Skint have come up with a plan to protect the new Little Man Tate against the threat of illegal filesharers - by, erm, not letting anyone have the record before it goes on sale : Little Man Tate's I Am Alive comes with a ticket to the band's headline show at Rotherham's 4000 capacity Magna venue on the March 28. In an added bid to reduce bootlegging, the single will not be promoted to the radio or press until the day of its release. Although the suspicion would have to be that all this would [...]

Skint/Yellow Van Records – 15th September 2008 – CD, LP & Download This album review was written by Winston's Zen for AltSounds.com and was o riginally published here . Over the last five years or so the UK music scene has been awash with spiky-riffed, sharp-quipping Northern indie-pop outfits. Since Alex Turner first transferred Mike Skinner's bar-propping observational witticisms to a guitar loving (read; wider) audience, a hundred scruffy haired frontmen from bands like Milburn , [...]

Skint/Yellow Van Records - September 8th 2008 - CD, 7" & Download This review is the first in a hopefully long lasting collaboration with online music community AltSounds . The original posting can be found here . The review..... On the one hand, I can understand why Little Man Tate have chosen Hey Little Sweetie as the follow up to What Your Boyfriend Said , the first single to be taken from that eternally tricky second album. [...]

Because he asked me to…… My mate Dave (we've all got one, right?) has been bugging me for weeks now to make him another mix CD. I say another, as I do him one every few months, when he gets bored of the last one. He's a gardener by trade, and a damn good one at that. In fact, round these parts he's know as THE gardener. A bit like Doctor Who without the time travelling or the hot assistant….. and a VW camper instead of a TARDIS. [...]

Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy loaded to NME media player Ambitious Sheffield four-piece, and graduates of the Arctic Monkeys school of web-promotion, Little Man Tate may have parted ways with record label V2 since their 2006 debut album About What You Know , but they've certainly not lost any of their appetite for online promotion. [...]
Little Man Tate make their long awaited return to our headphones next month with the release of their second album " Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy" which will be released through Skint on 15 th September. The band seem to have passed the test by following up a classic debut with another damn good record. It's a bit too early to really pass any judgment yet cos I've only heard it once myself but it sounds good to me. The Taties will be embarking on a full scale UK [...]
Little Man Tate é uma banda de Leeds, Inglaterra, formada em 2005. Ainda sem muita identidade musical, lançaram seu primeiro álbum, "About What You Know", em 2007. Parece [...]
Just the other day I was wondering to myself what had become of Little Man Tate. A couple of years ago the future looked bright for the Sheffield band. A string of great singles, many if not all of which were featured on this site, some really quite memorable live performances including one in York a couple of years ago during which someone had it away with the bands van. And then of course there was last years "About What You Know" album which kind of brought everything up to date although for me I thought it sounded a bit [...]

The Devil is on his travels again, off to Denver for a couple of days, and therefore there may be a slight lull in postings. So, as a special going away treat a bumper harvest of odds, sods and nice to haves starting with ... Little Man Tate Genre: Indie / Rock From: Yorkshire, United Kingdom They have [...]

Wading through the endless Myspace friend requests from bands, the promo cds and recommendations received, there is an overwhelming surplus of new music. I've heard some really great material, some filler, some stuff I'll never listen to again. This Friday 8-Track includes a collection of artists who have hit the new music bin and made their way to the iPod - (a very illustrious position, indeed). You can expect to hear plenty more from these artists this year. Enjoy! Program 1: 1. Little Man Tate - "Sexy In Latin" [...]
Little Man Tate are a four-piece indie band from Sheffield, England. The band consist of Jon Windle (vocals + guitar), Maz (guitar), Ben Surtees (bass), Dan Fields (drums). Their witty and sexual lyrics have gained them an increasingly growing fan base, mainly through Internet forums and message boards, particularly on forums of other Sheffield-based bands such as Arctic Monkeys. In March 2006 they signed to Virgin's V2 Records label. On The 28th August 2006 they released their second single "House Party At Boothy's" a tribute to the best house parties in Sheffield held by close friend Boothy. The track [...]
Ola, Welcome to this brand new blog, started at the very beginning of 2007. It's going to function as a means of letting the world know what we're up to with our club night and simultaneously sharing some good music, mostly in the indie-electro genre, perhaps with a weekly 'wildcard' song. Yeh, I think that could work. I think we'll be sharing some of our mixes here too. [...]

Did a search on MySpace yesterday for "Indie - United Kingdom" and let the results be sorted by the number of song plays. Between the usual suspects ( Arctic Monkeys, Kooks, Oasis , etc.), there were a few bands I've never heard of before. And some of those are quite good, I think. Here's what I've discovered: [...]

This group of delinquents took their name from the Jodie Foster-directed movie about a child prodigy, and though they're well past the child prodigy stage, prodigy they may still be. Little Man Tate are a four-man group based out of Sheffield, home of the ever-explosive Arctic Monkeys. They definitely, however, do not carry the same sound. Little Man Tate compose of a sound that echoes a bit of Interpol or the Faint and a slight of Franz, now I'm not saying they're composed solely of those parts, but they do make up some of their demeanor. I don't [...]
