Little Racers - The Town Fan of Holiday Shores and/or Dent May ? May I highly suggest you give these Brooklynites a listen. They have that same light psychedelia, boucey and somewhat tropical vibe to them. I don't want this to deter you from listening but they've got this Latin-casino-lounge-band sound to them While this may turn the noses up of many I suggest you point your nose down take away any preconceived notions of a band that I may say has a Lounge sound to them and listen to [...]
Little Racer was, like many things, something I missed last year. The Brooklyn trio released a few singles at the tail end of 2011, the most recent being the "Split For the Coast"/"The Town" single. If you're anything like me, you'll be shaking your head for a while after you hear these songs, frustrated that you're just hearing them now in the second month of 2012. While it seems like every band under the sun is sprouting out of Brooklyn, Little Racer, after just a few songs, seem to be onto something worth repeated listens. Mixing the carefree cool and [...]
Hailing from oh-so-fashionable Brooklyn, Little Racer 's debut double A-side single, "Split For The Coast" / "The Town" was released in December, and has remained on our turntable ever since. In the fine, longstanding tradition of quality maintained by the Young And Lost Club label, the band, formed in late 2009, consists of Elliot Michaud (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Ish Nazmi (bass, backing vocals) and Mike Seay (drums, backing vocals) and look destined for great things in 2012.
I've been mostly cut-off from the internet this week thanks to living in a pre-War building that has cable installed in ways McGuyver never would've attempted. (A vision of a SOPA future, perhaps.) But we're back on now and I managed to put this one together while unplugged. Last week we got mostly dancey songs, and this week the guitars are back. A lot of exciting new stuff here I think. And one old song. Have a swell weekend! DOWNLOAD WINTRY MIX 01.20.2012 Here's the tracklist: [...]
"I wanna go back to the coast", Elliot Michaud's rich vocals on this track makes me want to do just that. 'Split for the Coast' has surf-rock guitar, a superb vocal range and is a definite nod to the early sixties. With such a well established tropical, Beach Boys-esque sound anyone would think these 3 came... Read more..
One could be forgiven for not being able to successfully place indie three-piece Little Racer as a modern-day outfit hailing from Brooklyn on an initial blind listen to their debut single "Split For The Coast". Blame it on the song's ever-mutating construct, an endlessly fascinating threading of various genres and musical eras that touches on ragged East Coast lo-fi garage, a breezy '602s West Coast swing inspired by the surf-guitar bubblegum and sweet male doo-wop of the Beach Boys and wait, is that bossa nova (?), to color the somber story of a guy having to [...]
I'm in eastern NY (don't think city), trying to move around, not drink alcohol, and bring you some music while getting my mind off the "fuller than humanly possible" feeling. Thankfully the blogosphere has givin me Little Racer and their speedy-percussive, The Drums/Two Door Cinema Club meets Local Natives happy music. Imma keep this short and sweet, dig in on a healthy helping of these guys and you'll be shoulder shaking your way out of your itus coma in no time. Little Racer is a 3 piece from Brooklyn, making some delectable and jangly indie pop tunes. The band have just released a double A side split single of "Split On The Coast" and "The Town". The former is all about lead singer, Elliot Mchaud's, girlfriend, and her hatred of all things New York. I mean I love Cali and all but, you just can't hate on NYC that bad. Good riddance. "The Town" presents a very different vibe, going more the wonderful discoveries we find in all walks of life. Pretty much taking a road trip in an unseen [...]

Little Racer, 'The Town' -- Video of the Day
Filed under: Video of the Day Artist: Little Racer Video: 'The Town' Highlight: 'The Town' is the B-side from Brooklyn band Little Racer's debut single 'Split for the Coast.' Within the frame of 'The Town,' Little Racer uses a colorful, imaginary amusement park setting to complement the track's low, brassy indie-pop sound. Projected imagery and bright lights follow singer Elliot Michaud throughout the video. [Little Racer on Bandcamp .] [...]

[video] Little Racer: "The Town"
Good morning! Do yourself a favor and start off Thursday with the classy bounce of Little Racer's "The Town." It's unquestionably a pop, but there's just a little bit of free-spiritedness in the horns that remind me of New Orleans jazz. The bulk of the song reminds me of BOAT, pop darlings of the Northwest. [...]
