Ex componentes de Woods, Ancient Sky o Meneguar forman Little Gold . La formación de Brooklyn acaba de publicar Weird Freedom , su segundo álbum. Sisters & Friends es una de sus canciones. Mp3: Little Gold. Sisters & Friends

Our usual round up of the very best of our August posts and some new tracks too. Dip in - every one a winner as they say. Download The Cabin Dogs – High Falls mp3 (from Midnight Trail) Invites you to kick off your boots, pour a stiff one and sit on the porch to watch the sun go down – a song for when you're busy doing nothing as they say. Download Spectrals – Big Baby mp3 (from Big Baby 7″) Spritely and upbeat that melds 60s girl [...]
Little Gold knows how you feel. You smoked a little grass, got in a bike accident, some dudes dressed as birds with a van kidnapped you, forced you to party way too much and watch "Howard The Duck" and go to a carnival and eat fried human. Like, they get it, right? Reading your mind, right? But the Brooklyn-based trio fronted by erstwhile Meneguar guitarist Christian DeRoeck has gone a step further: they made a ridiculous video for their awesome song, which is from their terrific sophomore set Weird Freedom , which was released on [...]

It's likely that some of you have missed the Best New Releases for either week one, two and/or week three of August, and as [...] Read more, get songs or stream the entire mix on Indie Rock Cafe

Weird Freedom is the latest release from Brooklyn's own Little Gold . While technically it is their second LP, Weird Freedom marks two firsts. It is the first release for the band's own Loud Baby imprint, and it is their first LP as a proper band. The country twang which you may remember from their earlier release is turned down on this record and the guitar is turned all the way up. Weird Freedom is out today on vinyl (with 500 copies on sky blue vinyl), digital and CD. Listen. [...]

Here's a track from Little Gold's forthcoming album, 'Weird Freedom'. It's called 'Sisters & Friends' and sounds a bit like Dinosaur Jr. doing a 60s girl band thing. 'Weird Freedom' is out on August 23 through Loud Baby Sounds.

Let us briefly recap what the pop illuminati have been up to this week: Ben Gibbard discovered Ride and covered "Twisterella," Nicki Minaj joined the ranks of the "nip-slip" club on an episode of GMA last Monday, while Jay-Z and Kanye competed with Sigur Rós for blog buzz dominance. While there is never anything wrong with paying homage to previous artists and influences or competing with your fellow musicians, wardrobe malfunctions are the ultimate in PR boosts and ta...

Christian DeRoeck, ex member of SC faves Woods, is about to release his second full length under the Little Gold moniker. Yesterday afternoon the first single off of Weird Freedom , "Sisters and Friends" landed in our inbox and it has been rattling my ears since I plucked it from its digital envelope. It is full of fuzzy bombast, garage dust, and suggestive words dipped in distortion. If that doesn't make sense, push play and put it on repeat until it does. Look for Little Gold's Weird Freedom on the band's brand spanking new Loud Baby imprint [...]

Weird Freedom , the second full-length from Brooklyn's Little Gold , sounds like a celebration, and with good reason. It is the inaugural release for the bands own Loud Baby imprint, and its Little Gold's first LP as a proper band. Shortly following his departure from folk feral enthusiasts Woods , Christian DeRoeck assumed the Little Gold moniker and in 2009 released the wayfaring bridge-burner On the Knife . In stark contrast to the melancholic, country-tinge of that record, Weird Freedom is a rock band getting weird in their new skin. While On the [...]

Wow, I love this song! The bassline, the drums, the jangly guitars, the vocals, - the feeling - - it's all very close to perfect. This is Little Gold from Brooklyn, a band with ex-members of Woods, Meneguar and Ancient Sky , and they will release their second LP " Weird Freedom" on the band's own label Loud Baby Sounds , on August 23. I said "their second album", but that's only half-right. This is Christian DeRoeck (ex-Woods) second album [...]

Shortly following his departure from folk feral enthusiasts Woods, Christian DeRoeck assumed the Little Gold moniker and in 2009 released the wayfaring bridge-burner On the Knife . Robbie, Lindsay, and Chris of Radical Dads sent us these answers to our questions in this next installment of the q and also a series. q: What is the last song you (really) heard? r: Turn Around (mp3) by Lunch . l: Birds of Paradise Lost (mp3) by Conversion Party . Not only did I hear them play it live the other weekend at Cake Shop 's 6th birthday party, my manfriend insists on scatting the bass line, so [...]

It's time to listen to a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. These are just a few of the songs that would get there own individual posts on here on GIMME TINNITUS, if I only had the time. You can stream all the songs in this mix using the Yahoo media player at the bottom of the page OR if you are browsing with Chrome you can play (and scrobble ) the whole page using the ex.fm extension OR [...]

>> There are a number of bands right now forcing us to confront the fact that we do in fact like (some) rock music with horns. But we have to say most surprising of the lot is Little Gold 's "Mike Swan." We've written previously about being overjoyed that one former member of Meneguar was doing something that excited us, that member being Brooklyn-based Little Gold 's fronter Christian DeRoeck. Mr. DeRoeck's current rootsier rock act hews most closely to whatever we can refer to as a Meneguar legacy, although Meneguar certainly didn't have [...]

Just in time for the final return of good old springtime, here's some lush and easy indie pop for your esteemed ears by Brooklyn lo-fi outfit Little Gold , the trio formed by ex-Woods member Christian DeRoeck together with Brian Markham and Patrick Broderick. Oh Dad is the b-side of the band's forthcoming Mike Swan 7 inch on Sophomore Lodge . The track was originally written by Christian's friend James Jackson Toth of Wooden Wand , but though we're not familiar with the original we couldn't imagine it anymore uplifting than this. [...]
