History will record that in the first week of January, one of the great bands from the late Eighties/early Nineties put an end to a somewhat lengthy absence and made their return to a New York City stage for a brief, electrifying set. Well respected for their collective hard rock brilliance, this foursome reached exponentially larger audiences through exposure on MTV before undergoing a lineup change, break up and reunion years later. Despite the fact that their lead singer proved to be the group's more photogenic and charismatic member, it's the guitarist that receives consistent acclaim as one of the [...]
We've had the Colourfield, we've had Field Music, so it was only a matter of time before Colourmusic turned up. Luckily, they're pretty damn good, so we're not going to resent their unimaginative band name. This is Tog , which I believe may be the current single, but it's so damn hard to tell these days. Incidentally, that looks like a hell of a party.
Music can have an incredible emotional impact on the listener, at times overwhelming. When you write about music for a living it's impossible not to be become jaded, and those times when music completely takes you over grow ever farther between. But watching this live performance of "Flying" - Living Colour's 9/11-inspired song and, IMO, [...]
Of course when you set out to make a list like, say, the one we're doing right now, of The Top 25 Modern Metal Guitarists, you are bound to piss a lot of people off - that just comes with the job. But I always find it hilarious HOW those people get pissed off. For [...]
MetalSucks recently polled its staff to determine who are The Top 25 Modern Metal Guitarists, and after an incredible amount of arguing, name calling, and physical violence, we have finalized that list! The only requirements to be eligible for the list were that the musician in question had to a) play metal (duh), b) play [...]

I got home at about 1 a.m. on Sunday morning and my stomach started to hurt. I thought it was just indigestion, so I took a pill and went to sleep. Then at 3 a.m., I woke up suddenly with that awful feeling. You know the one - GET TO A MOTHERFUCKING SINK OR TOILET RIGHT [...]

Even as a 12 year old I didn't know how to spell. "Wait a minute - Mix Tape Zero?" You're probably asking. Yeah. Mix Tape Zero. Let me explain. As I cleaned out the Volvo last week I came across an old cassette tape. It was the first "mix tape" I'd ever received. Compiled in 1994 by then-camp counselor Brian "Klugger" Klugman, this was our "bunk mix," the songs which myself, my bunkmates and our counselors had enjoyed throughout our 8-week summer camp experience. I went to camp every summer [...]

Next Wednesday night, Phab Phour tribute act Strange Design will take the stage at HT's favorite NYC venue Brooklyn Bowl to recreate one of the two shows - which will remain a surprise until showtime. Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive After two years as a notorious two-timer, Corey Glover is back with Living Colour . The frontman spent a few years portraying Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus, in a traveling cast of 'Jesus Christ Superstar.' "I've been wanting to play that role since I was like 8 or 9 years old," Glover tells Spinner. "I saw Carl Anderson in the movie doing it, and I was like, 'That's [...]

Good Evening BlackRadioIsBack.com and FuseBox Radio Broadcast family! :) It's been a while since doing some extra things on the blog in between us setting up a new overall homebase FuseBox Radio Broadcast website ( http://FuseBoxRadioOnline.com ), covering NY Comic Con (article and videos posted up here in the next day or so) and getting a new string of content lined up for over here & beyond. It's been madness, but a good and positive bit of it... [...]

Sebastian Bach and, to a somewhat lesser extent, Corey Glover and, to a definitely lesser extent, Paul Stanley have all had some success doing theatrical musicals, be it on Broadway or elsewhere; now Dee Snider wants in on that action, and has joined the cast of Rock of Ages, the hit Broadway jukebox musical that [...]

While we've seen sporadic live dates from Particle over the last few years, 2010 marks an important milestone for the techno-jam-rockers as they are celebrating their tenth anniversary. To commemorate the occasion the LA-based act has announced details for a special run of shows with former guitarist Charlie Hitchcock. The nine-date October tour, that will focus exclusively on gigs in California and Colorado, will be the first time that Hitchcock has toured with the band in nearly five years. If you [...]
Banner Designed by Cysquatch Welcome to "Question of the Week," a (sometimes) weekly debate amongst the MetalSucks staff regarding a recent hot button issue. There weren't any real hot button topics this week, so we decided to just play a fun game that used to keep Vince and Axl occupied for many a lunch period when they [...]
it has been two weeks since the show but i am still buzzing about meeting my musical heroes in Living Colour . it was an amazing experience seeing them play in such a small venue. and now more video from Living Colour at Jaxx has been posted on YouTube by a non-profit organization called Justice Through Music . they are a Washington DC-based group that "uses famous musicians and bands to organize, educate and activate young people about the importance of civil [...]
