Living Days come from Brooklyn and embody that mythical 80s new-wave sound. Love the vocals (btw her name is Stephonik Youth) and love that synth…these guys are playing Deli Magazine's SXSW set and I've heard they put on crazy live shows. Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes) "wishes she lost her virginity" to Living Days and I see why. 01 Somebody Else by STEELSYNCH
The new Brooklyn band, Living Days, is teasing us plenty with their debut album, Make Out Room, Part 1. Released through The Muse Box on October 12th, Living Days flirts with faded images of spin the bottle and shoulder padded romance. Lead singer Stephonik Youth is rhythmically nostalgic, a hauntingly familiar voice much like Robert Smith of The Cure. If an album had to feel like a year, I'd call this 1983, but if you're assuming this is a sugary sweet '80s concept band, you're mistaken. There's something dangerously romantic about Living Days, like [...]

Perfect for Valentine's Day or hell...any day of the year. Brooklyn's Living Days have provided all the frustrated lovers out there with the perfect lead-off track for the mixtape to send to that special someone who most likely thinks you need to spend more time being social and less time sitting at home fretting over mixtapes. This one is called Let's Kiss and it's what a new wave pop song should sound like. Throw this one on and prepare to marvel at how quickly you'll be doing the pogo in your room. If Robert Smith of The Cure [...]

Are you a fan of the Cure and 80s romantic new wave? Well, then you are going to absolutely adore Living Days . Their song "Let's Kiss" perfectly nails that wonderful romance inspired 80s new wave that so many of us adore. I know I do. I could totally see "Let's Kiss" in a John Hughes movie. It comes off their debut EP Make Out Room Part 1 which drops on August 24th. Kids will certainly have no problem getting frisky to their tunes. The EP is as solid as they come, so be sure [...]

New York based new wave/romantic pop band Living Days is getting ready to release their debut EP, Make Out Room Part 1, on August 24th. I don't know much about this band other than what I've found through a little time with my friend, Google, but I came across them the other day after seeing a tweet from @PopMatters that linked to the video premiere for their song, "Last Kiss" (see video below). I dug what I heard, thought you might too, and so here we are today. Download: Let's Kiss [...]

I am concerned by the recent announcement that The Buggles will be reforming for a one-off show for which they will perform The Age Of Plastic in its entirety. While I'm not well-versed in the bible, and my memories of my Catholic upbringing are foggy at best, I am fairly sure I recall Sister Anita mentioning the second coming of The Golden Age of MTV as a precursor to Judgment Day (her capitalization in both instances, not mine). Now we have [...]
Longing for the original days of electro-pop when synthesizers just had that special sound? Then you might want to check out Living Days' "Go Oblivion." With an uplifting, forward sound Living Sound's "Go Oblivion" sounds straight out of the '80s...but with better production values and a little more of a punky edge. Check it out for yourself with a free download of Living Day's "Go Oblivion."
I love the bits. Quickest and slickest way to get so many goodies sent your way. Do you agree? Do you hate 'em, love 'em, don't give a whaaa...oh well, they'll still be here. Waiting for you. Ratatat's video for Party With Children [...]

Living Days is a NYC based New-Wave band that is invoking the sounds of the past to create something modern and fresh. The quintet is fronted by Stephonik Youth and an assemblage of indie music all-stars, including former members of Matisyahu, and sci-fi thrash band AQUI, Lee Scratch Perry, and touring members of Coco Rosie. Living Days is gearing up to release their debut LP, Make Out Room . With the album they enlisted talented producer and former chief engineer of The Magic Shop, Matt Boynton (MGMT, The Butthole Surfers, The Lemonheads). With a sound that [...]

Brooklyn's own Susu have a new album in the bag. It is entitled R and R and R and it will be released early next year on Jan 18 (at least according to their Bandcamp site). This mp3 showed up earlier today over at Ear Farm , who report that M.B.T. stands for Mike's Bass Thing and maybe just maybe, Matt B. Tyson. I repost it now. Downloadable: M.B.T. Yes sir! The original title of this mixtape was "I Could Have Danced All Night" but then I decided to update it for the LOL-cat generation. These songs are for a fancy-casual dance party. For those of you who don't know what that means, it's when you wear what you normally wear and do some fancy dancing. Duh. Ideally, some drinking should happen before this playlist is broken out. People should catch the buzz, but they shouldn't be smangled. Their general level of drunken-ness should be fancy, you know? Unless you're under 21. No drinking should [...]

dl: THA PUMPSTA - Don Juan ( Z ) ------------------------------ ------------------------------ -------- ------- I've had Tha Pumpsta on my radar ever since long ago when I wrote about the Black Peter Group . After first hearing him, we had a number of IRL encounters (which include maybe shaking hands while going to a few bars with a group of other people after an Old Gold show and standing [...]

dl: LIVING DAYS - Somebody Else ( Z ) ------------------------------ ------------------------------ -------- ------- I'd like to tell you more about Living Days , but I simply don't have much to work with. Apparently the lead singer used to be in this band . They seem to have some sort of affiliation with Tha Pumpsta , Mirror Mirror , White Williams [...]
