Vancouver's Living with Lions have announced that they will be reuniting with original vocalist Matt Postal for their upcoming tours, which includes a number of stops on the 2012 Vans Warped Tour . The band states: "[Vocalist] Stu Ross is a friend to us all, and after over a year or so handling vocal duties, has decided to move on to pursue future projects. We wish him the best of luck." The band is currently on tour with Comeback Kid , Foundation , and Such Gold .

Here's my favourite local discovery in a while. Vancouver's Chris vanderLaan undertook a project in 2011 to write 100 songs, which resulted in him starting a slew of new bands in a variety of genres. This includes his pop punk project Wars , a band that features members of Living with Lions and Ghost House . The band's album is called, uh, Pacey from Mighty Ducks , making it probably the only LP ever named after actor Joshua Jackson (who played Pacey Witter in Dawson's Creek and Charlie Conway in [...]
Filed under: News , Exclusive Black Box Recordings When Living With Lions released their 'Holy S---' album with its Bible-like resemblance and packaging , they never expected FACTOR (The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings), who helped fund the project, to get up and arms about what the organization deemed "offensive material." In fact, the controversy got so out of hand that the Vancouver band opted to return the grant money rather than battle it out with [...]
2011 cannot come soon enough for Vancouver's Living With Lions as the band prepares for the release of their second full-length record, provocatively titled "Holy Shit". It has been a long and winding road since the band formed in 2007. From the start, there was something tangibly different about Living With Lions – their trademark [...]
Living With Lions sounds solid if you don't get distracted by the album cover.
Filed under: News Courtesy of Living With Lions Well, that's that. Consider the Living With Lions album-artwork controversy over. On Tuesday, May 24, the Vancouver-based punks and their Black Box label put an end to things with the announcement that they would repay FACTOR loan and recall their 'Holy S---' album due to what some people, including Canadian Heritage Minister James Moore and FACTOR representatives, interpreted as blasphemous content. "In light [...]
When you first begin listening to Holy Shit, the new album from Vancouver-based quintet Living With Lions, it comes across as an impressive satirical commentary on the mediocre state of what passes for 'alternative rock' nowadays. A couple of songs in however, and you come to the stark realization that these guys are actually serious. Living With Lions leave no cliche unused as they blast
Filed under: News , Exclusive , New Releases Courtesy of Living With Lions As speculation continues to grow regarding the coming rapture and end of the world on May 22 (most likely prior to NBC's ' Celebrity Apprentice' finale), another incident only lends possible credence to a galaxy-altering event on the horizon. According to an article in the Vancouver Sun today (May 19), Canadian Heritage Minister James Moore took aim at [...]
Despite not being covered too often on this site, the staff writers here at Crustcake do not only listen to basement recordings of USBM bands. We all enjoy some hardcore. Modern Life is War's Witness is one of this staff writer's favorite heavy records of all time. I love hardcore that is moody and also epic and Modern Life is War was exactly that. I had been looking for a replacement for them
More pop punk than you can shake a stick at. From the short-lived Sludgeworth to current stuff that borders on mall-punk, pop punk comes in many different flavors. Consider this a sampler platter. MP3 | MxPx - Punk Rawk Show from the 1995 album Teenage Politics MP3 | All Time Low - Dear Maria Count Me In from the 2007 album So [...]
Late last year, I gave the debut full-length from Vancouver's Living With Lions , Make Your Mark a pretty decent review but I've listened to the album many times since then and have really grown fond of it. This was before the band was signed to Adeline Records (Billie Joe from Green Day's label) and before the label announced they would re-release Make Your Mark as well as the Lions' 2007 Dude Manor EP. This is a great development as more people need to hear just how good Living With Lions [...]
Ultra-technical hardcore troupe, Misery Signals released their third album in 2008. We spoke to Stuart Ross about playing guitar and headbanging with the Milwaukee natives whilst planning a trip to Fuck City for New Year's. What was your highlight of 2008? My personal highlight of 2008 was the Through The Noise tour with Misery Signals, Comeback Kid , Bane, Shai Hulud, Outbreak and Grave Maker. It was such a great time having a handful [...]
Imagine a world where one band could be equal parts old-school Dude Ranch -era Blink 182, A Wilhelm Scream, and Digger. Well, maybe that's not really hard to imagine, especially if you've already heard Make Your Mark , the new full-length from Vancouver, BC, Canada's Living With Lions . They play that crunchy yet melodic post-emo pop-punk that's basically all the rage these days except that instead of auto-tuned harmonies, there's a little more grit to these vocals that often borders on shouting. Mmm... tasty. Make Your Mark has plenty of [...]
