Junior Sanchez offers up a little of everything on this exclusive mix for us. “Stuff that I dig, not just what’s ‘cool,’ but what I like,” he tells us. Basically, it encompasses a lot of styles and tracks that he’s currently playing out at the moment. “I try to expose a lot of great music when I play out across all platforms to every different type of audience.” Of course all staying within EDM—be it deep, techno, house, progressive, indie…he also threw a classic jam in the mix that hasn’t been heard or really exposed in awhile—that would be “Activator” [...]

Hot on the heels of his unique productions " Danny " and " Azumba ," Gregor Salto is back with a remix of Loleatta Holloway's "Love Sensation." Salto takes the same vocal that Third Party sampled for " Thank You ," and twists it into an acid-influenced remix with deep, infectious bass. The soulful vocal and Gregor's thumping sound make for a track that will keep dance floor's moving late into the night. Head to Beatport for the official release which also includes an instrumental mix. Purchase: Beatport You just [...]
If you're a 90's kid at heart, you might remember the hook of "Love Sensation" by Loleatta Holloway used for the song "Good Vibrations" by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch . You might also remember how bad of a rapper Mark Wahlberg is and for that problem, we have a simple cure. This Starkillers & Dmitry KO remix of Holloway's song "Love Sensation" gives some life and a much needed progressive house update of the song. With a driving bassline, subtle disco stabs and [...]

Third Party latest track "Thank You" featuring the vocal talents of Loleatta Holloway , is another massive release from the English duo. From their “Otherside” remix to “Feel“, Third Party proves they know how to make great dance music anthems. “Thank You” is the latest big room outing and it features a massive synth progression, a subliminal melody and the passionate vocals from Loleatta Holloway’s “Love Sensation.” Be sure to check out this banging hit! <p&a mp;amp;amp;gt;&amp ;amp;lt;a href=" http://soundowl.com/track/3lqo /third-party-ft-loleatta-hollo way-thank-you-original-mix"&am p;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;Download Third [...]

When Steve Angello and Size Matters invaded MetLife Stadium for EDC NY, we knew to expect new material. However, we didn't know we would be graced with the next anthem from Third Party, a track that worked wonders on the at-capacity football field of fans. "Thank You" features Loleatta Holloway's "Love Sensation" vocal to accompany the big room chords and melodic undertones. If you thought " Feel " or their remix of " Otherside " were big tracks, you should be impressed by the duo's latest offering, which will surely be a staple in festival season. 24 hours after [...]
RASHIDA LIVE ON JJJ MIX UP (STREAMING ON DEMAND TILL NEXT SATURDAY) Rashida's love for playing music that she loves is infectious. Now confirmed by Third Party via Facebook, their ID track featuring samples from Loleatta Holloway that Steve Angello dropped during his Size Matters takeover of EDC NYC last weekend is entitled 'Thank You' and will be released May 29 via Ultra Records. Third Party is an incredibly dynamic British duo that hi-jacked so many progressive sets over the past year with their remix of 'Otherside.' Steve Angello dropping 'Thank You' at EDC NYC Less dance floor banger, more melodic festival anthem, 'Thank [...]

As the year winds down to a close and we look ahead to the promise of 2012, it's only fitting that we pause for a moment to remember several dance music artists who we lost in 2011. Some of these artists are well known, others aren't. No matter what their level of profile was at the time of their passing, all of these artists left a legacy of music for future generations to enjoy. Loleatta Holloway One of the most sampled voices in music history died on March 21 after slipping into a [...]

Loleatta Holloway : Cry To Me [ purchase ] Among the soul deaths this year were those of Marv Tarplin (you know his guitar from “Tracks Of My Tears” and virtually every Smokey Robinson hit), Sylvia Robinson (founder of Sugar Hill Records and a soul singer in her own right), Coasters founder Carl Gardner, Dobie Gray, Vesta Williams, Gene McDaniels, Marvin Sease, Howard Tate, Gladys Horton of The Marvelettes, percussionist Ralph MacDonald, guitarists Cornell Dupree and Melvin Sparks, J Blackfoot of The Soul Children, St Clair [...]

For some reason today seems to be shaping up as the "1003 day . The London based Dummy (music magazine turned website and record label) is celebrating their 100th mix and they're doing it in style with JD Twitch (aka Keith McIvor ), one half of Optimo . McIvor's track selection, as always, is as eclectic as it is great. Deee-Lite sits next to Skinny Puppy, The Rapture bleed into Kraftwerk, Art of Noise, Loleatta Holloway, Konk, Headman, Klaus Nomi—it's quality from start to finish. Dummy also has a nice little interview by [...]

I’ve said it before: no other series on this blog is as much fun to put together than the Covered With Soul compilations. And I’ve yet a few mixes in store. There are have been a couple of pretty radical reworkings of songs; Maxine Weldon ’s interpretation of George Gershwin’s I’ll Build A Stairway To Paradise (best known, perhaps, as Georges Guetary’s showstopper in the An American In Paris musical) is one of them. On the other hand, if the version of Spirit In The Sky by The Stovall Sisters has [...]

The second SAVED! compilation gets righteous on your asses with a churchful of glorious ’70s soul – and it does so without going for the easy option of all those Stevie Wonder songs about God being a zillion lightyears away with whom you should have a talk (and did George Michael realise that he was singing a song of praise to God when he had a hit with Mary J Blige?). While neither Stevie, Aretha nor Marvin feature here, Al Green does, though with a song that precedes his lesser Reverend Green phase. And, of course, Curtis Mayfield [...]

I've been getting stuck around these cheeky little jams from Melbourne cats Andy Hart & Griffin James. They work a treat in a set but due to the great choice of original tracks to sample they are equally as enjoyable in the kitchen. I remember seeing Roy Ayers earlier this year, I can't believe how well the dude rocked a stage at such a tender age. I'll remember that show for the rest of my life, shame on anyone that hasn't seen him and his band. Be sure to follow these guys on SoundCloud as the [...]
For how long, no one knows, but the so-called (and rightly so) new king of disco Treasure Fingers is now doing a subscription-based iTunes podcast, sharing tracks and mixes he loves, chatting with friends about whatever they decide to talk about and just generally being as amazing as possible. For the inaugural episode, his guest... Read More
