"The band consists of lead vocalist Andy Brides, younger brother Adam on drums, guitar and backing vocalist Jimmy Gardner and bassist Matthew Edge. 2012 was a busy year for the band in which they secured prestigious support slots with Steve Cradock, Sunshine Underground and Danny Mahon. Hefty doses of blisteringly groovy, indie disco style anthems with a heartfelt twist, laid on a bed of catchy rock ‘n’ roll licks, were dished out left right and centre to some of the finest music venues across the North West including Liverpool’s Lomax, Wigan’s Indiependence and DryLive in Manchester". Danceable. Funky. Infectious. You may be thinking what these three words have to do with one another. Well for me, they completely define the sound, attitude and vibe of Exile Parade . AMBY interviewed Chris and Phil of the band to chat about their debut album Hit the Zoo , time machines, and how they would define themselves in three, simple words! AMBY: How would you describe Exile Parade's sound in three words? Phil: I remember Owen Morris once described us as being like a dark [...]

You gotta love a good featuring artist. From chopped up vocals to samples, I think without them many songs just wouldn't be the same. I've been searching my library finding some tracks which I remember having amazing vocals (focusing on drum and bass). I know I couldn't find all the best tracks, if you know any and think they should be in this post send me the artist and track and I'll add it to the list. BCee & Lomax - One Year On (Vocal VIP) [...]

It's great while on shuffle amazing song, after amazing song plays. Gave me the idea to pick a few songs which popped up, some old, some new. This song is just insane, I have loved BCee so much just because of this song, his collab with Lomax may be from last year but this amazing vocal VIP is just perfect. Just bringing this back for the Summer. Another older drum and bass tune from Echo Inada, but it still sounds so good, it was on the Hospitality Drum & Bass 2010 album which features loads of [...]
Grace Denis rolls around San Francisco, doing some L.I.V.I.N, takes photos and sends them to us. We've got a sweet arrangement with her. What more is there to say? She knows pretty girls? She would be great to party with? She's probably marriage material? Yadda Yadda etc etc.
They have cellphones in Africa, and memory cards too! Sometimes they put music on those memory cards.

Down in Miami, some of us in the LT3 crew got pretty up close and personal with the world's leading drum'n'bass stars. Hitting up the ViRAM party, along with Andy C's and Netsky's sets at Ultra, we got a fat dose of the latest in cutting-edge British dnb. RAM Records owner and DJ legend Andy C in particular just threw it DOWN; you can't deny the man's longtime experience. In his live set, he ran the gamut of Nightlife treasures, from Chase & Status to Delta Heavy and Wilkinson . But [...]

HALLO SAUSAGEPOTS. Blimey I've had a busy weekend (and Monday). Here's what I learnt: 1. ZZT can seeeeriously pull it out the bag. 2. [...]

With huge debut albums from Sub Focus and Chase & Status under their belt in the past year or so, it's time for Ram to move onto their next star (or stars) in the making. Xample and Lomax have both built up impressive back catalogues individually and as a team, they present a force greater than the sum of it's parts. September sees the next sampler from their forthcoming debut album and it's one of the biggest drum n bass tunes of the year so far. Using a fairly [...]

I previewed "Praise" by Lomax a few weeks back , and finally got a bit of news : word is Tango is dropping an advert of gospel choir boys wylin' out to "Praise" soon, with a major campaign (something like four million cans with a download link) coming out on 24 May 2010. And I'm hearing a white label release, and a possible Ram release, are on the horizon. I personally think that, while many of you might be upset that it's not the Lomax you initially love, this should [...]
Lomax - Praise by praisebylomax This one's getting a lot of heat. I got sent this last week, and it's definitely got "dancefloor killa" written on it. Word is this was commissioned for a short film, but Lomax got asked by a lot of heads to put it out. Expect this one to be released in May or June (the original press release I got sent said June 2010, but I'm also hearing 24 May 2010), although I'm not sure which label it'll end up on. Ram maybe?

Hailing from Amersham in Bucks, Nick Hill AKA Lomax has always had a very musical background. A piano player from a young age, and with a degree in music behind him, he was first introduced to drum & bass by the sounds of LTJ Bukem and John B back in 1997, and from then on he began producing in 2000. As the original member of cult drum and bass collective HoldTight, Nick had several releases on such labels as Industry, Renegade and React to name just a few, Nick has been extremely busy on the production [...]
What a decade, huh? This one's notable as having been spent entirely in NYC, and entirely of the digital age which changed the way everybody listened to music. (Maybe not my parents but everyone else.) We had more access to everything, and less to to spend with it. That said, there was no shortage of good music, though I don't think anything hit me quite as hard as the previous decade -- partly due to age, party due to aforementioned information overload. There's nothing from this year, as I feel it's too close to [...]

I been waiting to drop this one on you guys for a minute. With each release on RTDLTD , I plan on getting a DJ to throw down a tough selection of beats to help entice you guys to cop it. For the inaugural session, DJ Cable steps up and rinses out a 23-minute Mini chock full of Drum & Bass pressure, including both sides of RTDLTD001 (which is available in quality download sites, which you can find via Google ) and some forthcoming RTDLTD pressure from [...]

Prolific DnB producer Lomax has come out with his first solo release on the reputable Ram Records label, in the form of the huge 'Faith Massive EP'. When it comes to producing drum and bass across the whole spectrum; from rolling, melodic liquid through to the more techy, hard-edged stuff, Lomax is the man! And he does this with incredible skill and attention to detail too. From the minimal ambience of Too Real from last year, to the murky and down-right grimey sub-wobble of Metal Flange (2007), Lomax has proved that he [...]
