If you read the bios of our writers here at girlpants, one of the things you'll inevitably notice is that every single one of them spends and inordinate amount of time discussing the subject's childhood, generally in fond if overly wacky terms. Mike was born under a bad sign in Death Valley; Ben had an idyllic childhood, filled with boats; Joel matured into a rugged outdoorsman in the wilds of West Boca Raton, while somehow remaining perpetually 13 years old (this part is true); Niina was raised by bears. Jason, well... we're not sure he was ever a child. [...]

Just been going through a box of old CDs I'd not listened to for too long, and one of the first that jumped out at me (not literally - that would be ridiculous) was Looper's debut album Up A Tree . Aside from the realisation that this album is somehow already a decade old (where the feck did that time go?) the other amazing thing about this CD is the following track, Impossible Things #2 , which is one of the sweetest love songs I've ever heard. Basically, it's the musical equivalent of a lovely [...]

On this wild and windy Burns Night , we send you all ae fond kiss (MWAH!), a great big dollop of 90s nostalgia and a wee bit of Looper to warm you up. A couple or three songs, then, before we sever; snuggle up warm tonight, kids, to a deserving snuglee, and if you're really, really lucky, they'll give you all their songs to keep... Looper - Back to the Treehouse... Looper - Impossible Things [...]

I must admit, I think I had a harder time with this month's theme than either Matt or Rudi because I'm just not as musical as the two of them. Rudi plays guitar (beautifully, I might add) and was in a band in high school , and Matt is a freakishly talented hip-hop producer and DJ and is also in a band . Me? I'm just a voracious fan of music with a loud mouth. To wit: when talking about finding tunes for our lists Matt talked about reacting to the boogie bassline throughout "Drive My [...]
