By Ben Apatoff LORDI look like GWAR. Now that that's out of the way, remember that originality is overrated, and that being a pioneer doesn't necessarily mean being the high standard. Judged on its own, Lordi's music is exactly what it should be-stoopid, basic, catchy hard rock with song titles that were probably taken from JOEY ...

As if the name wasn't terrible enough... I'm not one who takes metal too serious, but I think there's an acceptable limit of how much piss a band can take when playing. After you cross that line the fun kinda fades away and leaves room for the lamentable, and what you're left with is a bunch of masked clowns. I don't mean to bash Lordi - heck, frankly, I don't give a rat's arse about them, but when I saw the cover art for their upcoming new album, "Babez for Breakfast", I immediately convulsed [...]

Sure, Lordi might not be the most original or entertaining band on the planet, but you cannot deny the awesomeness of the album art for their upcoming release, Babez for Breakfast. I don't hate Lordi, but I really don't see the appeal. They play generic, unremarkable hard rock, and dress kinda like Gwar. Okay. Swell. That being said, I really, really like the cover for their new album, Babez for Breakfast, even as I acknowledge that substituting a "z" for an "s" is about as cool Fear [...]
