Deltron Event II isn't the only big project from super producer Dan The Automator this year. Automator has hooked up with singer/songwriter Emily Wells for a new collaborative project called Pillowfight which also features long time Automator collaborator Kid Koala on turntables. According to Wells' website , the group came together when Kid Koala and Wells met at the Calgary Folk Fest. Koala, a friend of Dan's knew he'd been working on a "passion project" and was hoping to find a female lyricist/vocalist. Emily went to San Francisco to [...]
Lovage - Pit Stop (Take Me Home) From the mind of Nathaniel Merriweather (Dan the Automator) comes the Handsome Boy Modeling School project, Lovage. Featuring Mike Patton, Jennifer Charles and Kid Koala. On the album; Music to make love to Your Old Lady By. Enjoy.

With music blogging it's hard not to fall into a comfortable niche surrounded by like-minded bloggers who are all posting similar songs. That's why I've had a lot of fun with this Monday Mixer project. Each week, one of the blogs in the group chooses a theme and everyone has to come up with songs accordingly. This week I'm hosting and I chose "Baby Makin' Music" because I figured everyone likes to get down & dirty to different sounds and I wanted to hear what they'd choose. by Joseph: [...]
Here's a collection of my favorite love songs. The first four were really the driving force to make this list, but every one of 'em is sexy as hell. The list ranges from contemporary R&B to classic rock to trip-hop instrumentals and everything in-between. Although, all of them won't be appreciated by everyone, I guarantee you'll each find a gem of your own. If I get enough response out of this, I'll make up more of these love makin' lists - there were many I couldn't include due to [...]

Born in Vancouver and schooled in Montreal, DJ Kid Koala (real name Eric San) has carved out quite the name for himself in the international world of scratching. In 1996 he became Ninja Tune's first North American artist; In 2000 he released his debut album, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which garnered acclaim for its unique mix of track composition with its skilled use of turntables. He has since appeared on numerous projects, such as Deltron 3030, Bullfrog and Lovage, with Mike Patton. His latest experiment is the The Slew, and their album 100% . Composed of [...]

: dailychill : Today's delivery is brought to you by Lovage . Lovage is an group back from 2001 that consisted of Dan the Automator , Jennifer Charles, Mike Patton & Kid Koala (pictured) on the turntables. The group went on tour but didn't really get bigger than the underground so not everyone may be familiar with them. The song I chose today is called "Everyone Has A Summer" and its from [...]

Jennifer Charles is a relatively unknown singer, but has been singing in jazz-rock band Elysian Fields for almost 15 years. Her smoky and sultry voice make her a stand out but what makes Jennifer different from other similar jazz vocalists, like Diana Krall or Norah Jones, is that she sounds like she is having sex while she sings. I don't know if its on purpose, but it is undeniable. It brings a new meaning to the term "sexy voice." Another reason Jen is so high on this list, besides having an amazing voice, is the bonus points she gets for [...]

happiness is hard to come by but I've had my fair share the satin sheets, the lemon peels the minor keys, the major pills we've climbed the mountain, saw the top and planted the apple seed and can't you see we could've had it all ( Anger Management by Lovage ) photo by francisco Posted in cherry treats, moods, music, obsessions are made to be shared

I recently moved, and in my moving I found some CDs I hadnt listen to in a while. Since no new music has really inspired me at all this year [seriously does anyone have any original music or is everything a Remix???] .... the next few posts are probably going to be some hard to find classics. The first fantastic flashback comes from Lovage. Lovage was an indie supergroup who released one album. Though it barely made any noise, the CD blew my mind back in college. The album was called Music to Make Love to Your [...]

You and me are the disease and the germs are spreading Use me like listerine, keeping your breath fresher Feel the stroke of your paintbrush, my blank sheet of paper I'm your book of the month, read the fine print later You are the bitter, I am the sweet You are the griddle, I am the meat You are the trick, I am the treat You are the circus, I am the freak ( Book of the Month by Lovage ) [...]

I'll just have to admit it. I fell in love with a Patton project, Lovage. Amazing album. We'll run away my dear Some place special have no fear We'll even change our names We'll be kinky, we'll be strange I'll take the life of crime All to make you mine All to catch a thief ( To Catch a Thief by Lovage [...]
Now that the novelty of my return to S2S has faded, it's time for me to delve even deeper into the shadowy realm of hypnotic melodies and blissful, tripedelic compositions. Ladies and gentlemen, I just want to make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the journey ahead of us. The emotional power emitted from the following five songs, is strong enough to produce the exact amount of fuel for transportation to the moon and back. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. Song: Broken heart Artist: Spiritualized Album: Royal Albert Hall, 10-10-97 [...]

Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By ...who isn't on a constant search for that?! Certainly not me. My new favorites, Lovage will put you in the mood for old lady lovemakin' with To Catch a Theif ... To Catch a Theif ( Download )

Ok, so Lovage (aka Dan the Automator side project) released two version of this album, called Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By . One which included a vocalist and was somewhat campy, which I didn't care for and other being an all instrumental version of the album from which this track was taken from . To listen to the vocal version of this album visit their myspace page. This is probably one of the few times I strongly favor an instrument version over a vocal version of an album, being that [...]
