The song list this year has a lot of crossover with the records list from yesterday. I suppose that is to be expected to a certain degree, but I get it's a little repetitive for me to be banging on about the same bands over and over again. Still, that's the nature of these lists, and I'm not going to throw in other things for the sake of it. 1. Los Campesinos! - A Heat Rash in the Shape of the Show Me State, or, Letters from Me to Charlotte [...]

So 2010 turned out to be the year where my enjoyment of indiepop turned into a full blown obsession. Pretty much everything I've listened to (or rather, listened to and liked) this year falls into the genre, or at the very least, flirts with it in some way. So any end of year lists will be rather myopic genre wise. I simply haven't listened to most of the critically acclaimed albums released this year, nor do I care to. Regularly now I will look at Pitchfork and not even recognise a single band on it's front page. A few years [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. I'm not a big fan of live versions of songs, but I'm willing to make an exception here. City of Glass , the debut album by Love Ends Disaster! has very much become a favourite of the year so far (in an already spectacular year), and while there's some stunning songs on it, it's this one that stands out. Conventional wisdom would suggest I was swayed by a Doctor Who reference, but there's more to it than that. That might have got my attention in the [...]

Loves Ends Disaster! are a band that I've been aware of for quite some time. I'd never really listened to them mind, but I remember them getting quite a lot of buzz back around the time I first started this blog, which is well over four years ago at this point. After that though, nothing much seemed to happen. I didn't see much more about them, and from a cursory glance around, nor did many others. So it seems a bit strange that they have finally popped up with a (self-released) record now. Trying to regain buzz given how fickle [...]

This Sunday sees the return of Nottingham's no.1 music festival, Dot To Dot but as my university sees it fit to give me 3 exams in 3 days in the last week of term, i very annoyingly can't make. I say very annoyingly because this year boasts the best line-up the festival has had in its 3 year existence. Many a funfunfun loved band are playing and i probably could have been busy running around the grotty streets of Nottingham between venues to catch the hottest bands from midday to midnight...non-stop. But NO...i'll be stuck in the library, [...]
E drăguț (deși nu mai găseam ț-ul) să auzi -de văzut văd cu ochiul meu de amoebă călătoare- cum se schimbă scena în Anglia. Cum nu s-au poticnit după ștampila de britpop din anii '90, știi? Love Ends Disaster! - Pigtails mp3 myspace [...]

Sometimes you just get really fed up with listening to gay indie crap and The Scissor Sisters and just have an urge to turn up your amp. Headband and generally annoy your sister across the hall. That's why I bring you Sunday NightLoud Stuff. Possible feature? Anyway "TURN THAT RACKET DOWN!!!" Love Ends Disaster! I've talked about these guys in previous posts. And possibly via the wonderful narcissistic stalker tool technorati . The guitarist Jon got in contact with me, [...]
Love Ends Disaster- Ginko Disco The lovely lads from LED have made a video for their constant crowd pleaser "Ginko Disco". I'd have never thought such black humour was a potential from best kept band in Nottingham. They would quite like some votes on NME.com . Please go help 'em out. Download: Love Ends Disaster- Ginko Disco [...]
