What a highly appropriate title for the rippin' new 73 from Melbourne's Love of Diagrams - In My Dream . This is extremely well crafted, C86-informed (they even look the part) dream punk in the vein of The Vaselines, Bikini Kill, Axes -era Electrelane, Shop Assistants, and No Joy. I don't post much these days because I kinda hate music anymore, but this 2-track release got me jivin'. "Too Long" is dome crushing. In My Dream is out November 11th via their Bandcamp . We here at GIMME TINNITUS have been detracting slightly from your concert experience all year long. We take photos at shows. We know... we know we are annoying. That said, we do out best to keep it to a minimum and usually don't use a flash (which is why so many of these photos need a little "shopping"). Join us in reliving some of our favorite moments from some of the concerts we have seen during the past year. Look + Listen: You can click on the images for hi-res... [...]

Scott and Charlene's Wedding - Footscray Station Shambling, esoteric, Velvets-inspired indie rock with a sense of poetry, brilliantly named in honour of a classic Aussie TV memory: the marriage of Kylie Minogue's character to Jason Donovan's character on Neighbours. This sounds like that fictional suburb constantly idealised in rock music where everything's poignant & wistful & reeks of lost innocence, etc. It ambles along, shedding waves of noise, and it sounds totally cool. That's not surprising, given the pedigree of the band's members: frontman Craig Dermody, formerly of Spider Vomit, is backed up by [...]

I missed this Love of Diagrams video when it was posted back in March. I found it recently while checking out their trippy video for Forever (youtube). You can purchase their album digitally through (uggh) iTunes or physically through Unstable Ape or directly from the band (both are in Australia, FYI). Watch. Love Of Diagrams The Smell Los Angeles, CA 3/14/10 Here's Love Of Diagrams unfortunately extremely short set from their Los Angeles date on the latest tour. Love of Diagrams - "Part of You" From the band's latest, Nowhere Forever , released in Australia last year, but now getting a US release along with a month of tour dates .

Back home and once again from south of the border. This track comes from Mark Nelson and his better half Monika Fikerle ( love of diagrams ) on drums to form Miniature Submarines . Breaking away from his better known position as bass player for the stabs to release a debut 72 on the local rice is nice label. The A-side gives us 'The little room under the stairs' which develops a dark, narrow path of lyrics "I'm having trouble getting out of bed... I've been feeling pretty ordinary". It doesn't dare to lift off [...]

Ok, time for the very first Waves mixtape in series I'd like to continue with a few of my favourite genres to give you a bit of an introduction; the rest of the hunting is up to you. Not all of these would be considered totally shoegaze, but delve a bit into Dream-pop and noise rock too. MP3: 1. Ride - Seagull First track of their first album, and is always a great starter for any mixtape. Full of pounding, feedback laden guitars along with the signature poppy, breathy shoegaze [...]

I remember a couple or so months back seeing that Love of Diagrams had a new single coming out. I thought about buying it at the time, but passed for whatever reason. Looking back, I should have based solely on the strength of the bands '03 debut Target is You . So here we are in September and the band has just recently unleashed their second album Nowhere Forever in the bands native country of Australia through Remote Control & [...]

Love of Diagrams , Melbourne, have just released their third album, Nowhere Forever, and it is amazing. Coming from a band thats roots lie in the sounds of NY No Wave and UK Post Punk, that band has taken these sounds and grown and developed them, fusing more recently with 80's/90's Shoegaze and Dream-Pop, to create an instant classic. I am really digging this one, even more so than their previous releases and the Beaches album (of whom Antonia Sellbach of Love Of Diagrams is also a member). MP3: Love Of Diagrams [...]

Out now on remote control records Nowhere Forever is the latest release from experimental noise makers Love of Diagrams . The first single 'Forever' puts a spin on early 90's indie rock by getting straight to the point with a monster of guitar distortions and perfect balance of lazy echoing vocals. It leaves you feeling a little dazed but the energy released entices you to hit play one more time. The Band will be packing up the gear and heading upto Sydney for the album launch taking place September 17th @ The Annandale Get your tickets [...]
