Recognizing that alcohol and music go together like gangbusters, Stillwater Artisanal brewery has announced a line of ales called the “Sensory Series." Billed as a "collaboration between Stillwater Artisanal and singular musical artists," the series' first beer comes from Baltimore dream-rock outfit Lower Dens , who seems more like the Pinot gris- or Malbec-type. It's up for debate as to whether it's a positive or negative aspect to the current state of music but to find a band with a truly diverse sound is a rare find. Sure it's great to put on an album such as Nootropic from Lower Dens and immerse yourself in it's hip-chillness which vaguely transforms itself from track to track, the downside to albums like that is it makes most bands feel one-sided and leaves those experiencing it with very low expectations for the future of such bands and [...]

One of the great aspects of Lower Dens is how careful and studied their brand of experimental pop music comes across, yet if you follow the band on Twitter, or watch videos such as “Candy”, you’ll immediately get the sense that they are total smart-assess who love to display humor — and humanity — in every situation. The more I think about the band as these witty human beings the more I want to go back and listen to Nootropics from a completely different perspective.
To keep meself awake at work today I've had to consume three bags of CANDY , and I generally ain't a fan of sugary sweets. And just like that, now, my trust falls into the arms of the LOWER DENS and their sporty new video.
