Минимальный скетч от очередного бруклинского бути-дансера Obey City на тему то ли майями-бейса, то ли раннего девичьего хип-хопа, а конкретно - на хит секси дуо L'Trimm 1988 года. Ведь вы же знаете - все девчонки любят 'Cars That Go Boom'. Кстати, этот парень довольно неплох и по хайпу напоминает Бренмара в самом начале, только с поправкой на южный рэп и 'percolatin', а не сладкий рнб. Mr. Phenomenal Swag, рекомендую! Cuttie pie - L'Trimm sic . Two things i don't know enough about but i'd like to: Women in hip hop, old school or new, and Miami hip hop and bass. Here is an amazing sample of both. I love this so much. Why are things kept from me? Why this? Is this really the furthest thing from me, who i am, what the world portions out to me, tells me what is for me, etc. Ugh. Experience. Everything's an education.

Ex-Bonde De Role Marina (not the one with the diamonds) has teamed up with Soko to form Marina & Soko. "Mum" is literally begging for you to put the top down and head to the beach, like now. Skip work, beach now. Produced by Radioclit, the track relies on an unforgetable WAR sample. The release is on super limited edition 73 that is available as partnership between IHEARTCOMIX and Puregroove . Marina & Soko - "Mum" Of course Marina & Soko aren't the first girl duo to use WAR's [...]
File under inevitable remixes that actually sound OK: the Black Eyed Peas' neverending No. 1 "Boom Boom Pow" blended with L'Trimm's stone classic "Cars With The Boom," because, well, it's probably pretty obvious. The remix comes courtesy of King Most , whose site, I should admit, I clicked on because of a post about the Wale/Lady GaGa collaboration "Chillin'" that put forth the important question, "Can Someone Remix Lady Gaga's Face As Well?" (I am a bad person. I know.) Embed of the track after the jump. [...]
If folk would just acknowledge L'Trimm a both a hugely unappreciated influencer in the Miami bass scene and an all around awesome crew, I feel like I could move on with my life and focus on doing my very best to get Tigra back with Bunny D so she doesn't have to pen any more Goddamn Pinkberry jingles . That Kid Cudi track is fuckin' everywhere this month, right? Good on you, Corporation . Corporation "Cars That Go Day N' Nite" (Kid Cudi vs. L'Trimm)
Halloween is only four days away! Although the fun is rapidly being sucked from the whole holiday thanks to church-sponsored "Harvest Festivals" and the jackass who thinks a "FBI: Female Body Inspector" t-shirt is a costume, we hope to help you, the reader, inject a bit more excitement into the celebration with some costume ideas from your favorite music videos. 7. Van Halen , "Hot For Teacher" Fast forward (or the internet equivalent) to 2:14. See those orange [...]

L Trimm-Cars With The Boom

Otherwise, I wouldn't have this awesome track to groove to. L'Trimm (L'Trimm!), most known for their 1988 ode to subwoofers, Cars That Go Boom showcased Kendall, Florida's 18 year old Lady Tigra and Bunny D's knack for hook driven, top down tracks. 20 years later, The Lady Tigra has captured my heart and soul again. With a guest by MC Lyte , They Stole My Radio is smooth and buttery. It's a great summer song, and it makes me feel all [...]

I know it is unlikely that there is any connection, but when Tigra sings "Sorry Ice Cream, I'm on my way to Pinkberry", I keep hearing that as a dig against New Young Pony Club. She was there first, and she is always going to be cooler. For fuck's sake, she is advertising (what is essentially) Angel Delight, and the song still comes off as a million times better than anything London's current lot could do. Quick history lesson: 1988: L'Trimm, aka Lady Tigra and Bunny D, two 18 year olds from Miami, release Cars That Go [...]

The Glamour is a couple of kids out of Milwaukee - my guess, judging solely from their tracks, is they have the run of the party scene in Wisconsin (the state famous for its cheese... and beer). I tease with love because the Midwest is gonna take over. "Respect The Party" is a pretty damn awesome track... there's a sense of urgency in the vocals that reminds me of something like "We Are Your Friends." And I love, love the synth solo in there. The Glamour - "Respect The Party" [...]

I decided not to do a post about Christmas music. Not to be a Scrooge or Chuck D or anything, but it's all been written and posted before. And how many times can brothers remake Silent Night ? If you want some holiday cheer, head on over to allupinyourearhole for the best Xmas cuts you're ever gonna hear. And likewise, I am not feeling all those year-end "best of" lists. They don't make any sense - if you love music, your top 10 changes on the daily. And this month's Pump That Bass just might [...]
