This one was a sneaker. I first hit play, and was kind of all "This is alright". And then about halfway through, I was starting to feel it a little bit. Norway's very own Lucy Swann is the little lady responsible for these luscious licks. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that I like so much about this song. Perhaps it's the way that it took me a while to get a grip on what was going on, or maybe it was the interesting (if not indistinguishable) use of [...]
Maybe it's the clock-like percussive precision. Perhaps the way the melody reveals itself as if peeling back the layers of an onion. Or the slow build to a glorious crescendo. But whatever it is, Norwegian Lucy Swann 's "For Heaven's Sake" is a promising peak at her forthcoming full length debut due this spring.
