A rare, handwritten letter by composer Ludwig van Beethoven has revealed that he was just like everyone else. In the letter, he complained of his "low salary" and tons of other gripes. So, minus the musical genius legacy, he was just like you or I.

Cold Splinters is headed up north and east this weekend to the land of Living Free or Dying, so y'all have a good weekend, take care and be safe. MP3: Ludwig Van Beethoven - Symphony No. 8 In F Major, Op. 93: III.

Dance remixes of Classical works hold a special place in my heart; the earliest EDM tracks I listened to were random remixes of symphonies, operas, and cantatas. They often fall short, however, usually because they can't match the grandiose musical nature of the original work. Of course, that could be rather difficult considering the sheer genius and musical intellect of the master composers. Progressive house virtuoso Ben Preston , however, has done a damn good job at it. Pairing up with world-class violinist David Garrett, Ben has created a progressive, techy house version of [...]

hahahaha, holy shit! "his name alone sets the tone for who he is, what he does and the magnitude of his skill set. super-producer xavier "zaytoven" dotson copped his name from the german composer and pianist ludwig van beethoven because of the many similarities the two musicians share. both were born in germany, both mastered the organ and piano at a young age, both boast a genuine interest in music and most notably possessed the same good foresight to align themselves with the key people who could help further their careers. for beethoven it was the dignitaries of [...]

SF's Citay knows how and they don't mind sharing. They've got that extry-Californy vibe that makes you kinda stare off into space and see yourself rambling along the coastal hills with your best friends while the sun refracts like the Star of Bethlehem. Then they throw down the soaring twin-guitar leads and you say, "Oh shit! Not enough twin-guitar leads in my life!" Their brand-new album Dream Get Together is out Jan. 26 on Dead Oceans - its title was inspired by those late-night conversations that [...]
Apologies for the late post. It's already early Monday morning (as in, past midnight) and I have been busy from the moment I awoke Sunday morning. This is the first chance I've had to sit down and focus at all on a blog post. Lucky for me I can compile a Sunday Mix Tape relatively quickly and still get to bed at a reasonable hour. There's almost no thought involved. A new reader/friend commented the other day that I have a "keen sense of music," so I decided to try my hardest to share as many new artists [...]
On this fifth anniversary of people's inhumanity to other people, I thought I'd say a little something about charity. I'm not gonna go into politics; suffice to say, I don't believe in depending on the government to help those less fortunate. I believe that the best way for disadvantaged groups to get help is for you and I to dig into our bank accounts and give our own money away. Or, if we have no money, to volunteer our time or material donations. If you look at Independent Charities , you'll see a [...]
