Brooklyn-based post-rock outfit LUFF will be releasing their new EP, "Maybe It's Just Sleeping," with a show at Cakeshop on Monday 16. Written in the aftermath of a series of tragic losses suffered by the band members, the EP is a grievous love letter to the lost. Sheila Sobolewski's brainchild, LUFF , is a Brooklyn based band that fills the gap between shoegazer and post rock with its mid tempo, moody tracks featuring Sheila's pensive vocals and electric guitar arrangements that range from the intricate and slightly dissonant to the full on, power-chord-fueled wall of sound. They are going to celebrate the release of a new EP tonight (11.11) at Union Pool; if you are into luscious noise and (truly proficient) all female bands, don't miss this one.
Luff recently did a session for BTR Live Studio: The band is playing a show at Union Hall on Friday with Quiet Loudly and Quiet Lights to celebrate the release of their new EP, Maybe It's Just Sleeping , as well as their new music video for "Through Here Like Our Father."
