Niet onbekend bij Eclectro is Lukid , Londens new finest. More Tea Vicar begint de mix met 'Time Doing So Mean', afkomstig van zijn in 2009 bij Werk Discs uitgebrachte 'Foma'. Werk Discs gaat sterk. From the 'rude not to' department - " old song. pre onandon. have it ": the blurred delights of Lukid 's Everybody Make Happy [...]

Back in Istanbul to dismal weather, too hot/cloudy/humid. We'll be back on track soon, but first a selection from yesterday's deep abstract hip-hop session which yielded a lot of good stuff from the last two years. by undomondo » After last night's Ricardo & Zip night, which really wasn't so great thanks to the low suffocation/music ratio, I barely have enough energy to do a quick recap of the first 2 months on undomondo. The commencement of 2009 was barely worthwhile with a few 4 star LPs and slight disappointments from trusted artists. Animal Collective's much hyped album is at most mediocre, if you aren't preaching to the hipster choir, Alela Diane's album is kind of bland after her brilliant sophomore and so is Tim Hecker's [...]
After 2007's OnandOn the anticipation for a new Lukid release was starting to become unbearable. That's when Werk Discs decided it was enough and finally released Foma, sophomore effort from UK's Luke Blair. The first album fell mostly on deaf ears but thankfully there are avid listeners everywhere, Nutriot says: "If trip-hop had further evolved since the nineties, or if it still had some relevance in contemporary underground music, this is what it would sound like! It all comes from a kid heavily influenced by Autechre and Boards of Canada, but [...]

Old Jack Frost has been a most Unwelcome visitor round these parts lately. Here's some aural equivalent's : Lukid is back with a new LP entitled ' Foma '. It's bursting with glacial synths & biting beats beefed up with a touch of filth. If your into Flying Lotus et al get this in your shopping basket. It's available from your local virtual record shop NOW . Lukid - Slow Hand Slap (Download) The Fun Years [...]

These are some of what I've been listening to in the past week. For all of them, reviews are pending... I'm lazy. Lukid - Foma Part dubstep, part instrumental hip hop, part glitch, an understated electro-acoustic venture that has been ruling my lazy days of late. Try [via bolachas gratis] [...]

Vodka and tonic. Pryor and Wilder. T-Pain and everyone. Collaboration rules. With that in mind our pals at Stussy have joined forces with Turntable Lab to curate and create a special album called BEATS, a collection of tracks from today's brightest young beatmakers. You can listen to the album and admire the limited edition boxset here and get your hands on a copy from 31/05. To celebrate its release we spoke to some of the producers involved, starting with North London boy Lukid, who gave us this peek at his forthcoming album, Foma.
Alright fellas, I couldn't finish the list on time, but I'll finish what I started hopefully. I'm still in London so I'm trying to wrap this thing up on a borrowed computer. Ahleuchatistas - Even in the Midst… ( Cuneiform ) : One of the three best math/maze rock albums this year from Asheville, NC's Ahleuchatistas . Past review on undomondo . We've been talking about adding a flash button to help people preview mp3s on the blog for awhile now so through the magic of delicious tagplayer we're going to give it a go. Leave a comment if you run into any problems. While I'm at it I'll use this an excuse to post a random selection of some of my favorite tracks from this summer: Nouveau Noise - Cinnte Lukid - Fela These first two tunes are some cracking african-inspired [...]

A history of bad haircuts Hey folks, we'll be leaving for a one week vacation tomorrow so there'll be fewer updates even, I'm trying to stock up a few updates now and the first one I jumped on is Lukid 's " On and On " on Werk Discs . The thing with this album is I got this around April after reading it at Other Music newsletter, I listened to it, liked it a lot, then forgot to blog it and a few days ago I went back to it and I got [...]

March: Amon Tobin, Foley Room [Ninja Tune, 2007] Style: Experimental RIYL: Autechre, Matmos Amon Tobin returns with a collection of music based on found sounds, using instruments in irregular ways, and an altogether different approach of sampling and composition. His most ambitious work to date, Amon succeeds in expanding his palette once again, moving further away from his jazz and [...]

WORD
Dilla School of Music, England Campus. Full Marks. Comparing one person's music to another is always a tricky decision to make for me. On the one hand, it's a quick way to describe music to someone in words. On the other, it has the unfortunate effect of putting someone in another's shadow. For Lukid, I can only hope he is flattered when I say that Onandon is most certainly a post-Dilla album. It's meant to be a compliment. Dilla has many "students," and Lukid definitely fits into the pack with Dabrye, Flying Lotus, Jneiro Jarel, and the like. [...]
