Angel Haze shows no sign of stopping the momentum she has gathered this year releasing her new mixtape 'Classick' last week. This is the follow up to this summer's 'Reservation EP' which catapulted the young artist further into public perception with her no holds barred rapping juxtaposed with a rich singing voice. Still when Haze [...]

Highly buzzed VA-based female rapper Angel Haze has today unveiled her new mixtape Classick . All 6 tracks are re-works of songs by Lupe Fiasco, Missy Elliot, Jay-Z, Erykah Badu, Lauren Hill and Eminem. The “Cleaning Out My Closet” cover is especially wonderful. Recently signing with Universal, I can’t wait bigger things from her. Have a listen below courtesy of Live Mixtapes. 1. Bitch Bad 2. Gossip Folks 3. Song Cry 4. Love of My Life 5. Doo Wop (That Thing) [...]

Over at the Lupe Fiasco Store , Lu and his camp dropped a slew of new t-shirts (my favorites inspired by the cartoon crew from the "Freedom Ain't Free" video) as well as some classic pieces for you to purchase. And tonight we've posted them for your review. See the rest below the jump and cop a few here.
I read a lot of comments about this inverview but didnt get a chance to see it for myself until now. I dont think Lupe is crazy but I due think hes a little "off". Correct me if Im wrong but I think aliens have better things to do than come to the Chicago hood and take 11 year old Lupe. Just sayin.
On this edition of Audiography we feature news and reviews of the latest albums by San Francisco twins Philistines , the return of Lupe Fiasco , and the skullcleaving beauty of Converge . We also feature an interview between Consequence of Sound 's Len Comaratta and Critter Fuqua, a founding member of Old Crow Medicine Show , who has returned to the band after five years away as the band promotes its latest, Carry Me Back . Having earned a reputation for playing some [...]

Personal Note: Lupe Fiasco isn't just a rapper/lyricist/word-spinner, he's a Poet. I hold him on a level with the greats...and no I'm not referencing 2Pac , Dre , or Snoop ...I'm talking Poe , Dickinson , Eliot status. If only T.S. had known what an 808 was, I'm sure we would've heard this genius decades ago...not. This is off Lupe's newest album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Part 1 . It dropped on September 25th in all its glory. Previous to the [...]

Yesterday, Lupe Fiasco brought up his alien encounter in an interview, inspiring us to hit Photoshop and imagine what the whole experience must have looked like. Lupe has some hardcore fans and some hardcore haters, and both hit Twitter to react to this story. Do you believe Lupe? Is he crazy? Have you ever had aliens implant anything inside your body?
Happy hump day: ► London indie-rockers Bombay Bicycle Club take on the Fonda Theatre in support of their album “A Different Kind of Fix.” Vacationer supports. ► The great Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Los Lobos and Infantree all team up for a big night at the Hollywood Bowl. ► Brooklyn's Exitmusic returns to their old stamping grounds as a former L.A. band and as the Satellite's headliners. [That's their video for "The Modern Age" above.] Oh Boys [...]
Lupe Fiasco's always been perceived as being a little out there with his rhymes and personality. As it turns out, he claims to have once had contact with creatures from [...] The post Lupe Fiasco Was Visited By An Alien Once Upon A Time appeared first on The Smoking Section .

When Lupe Fiasco was 11, he had an encounter with some aliens. He describes the event pretty calmly, but we imagine it was an intense experience. I mean here he is, an 11-year-old kid sleeping in bed, when all of a sudden he's getting shocked by some aliens. We dug through our photo archives but couldn't find any pictures from the actual alien encounter, so we created these images to properly tell the dramatic story.

During his recent interview with Power 106, Lupe Fiasco shared one of his more interesting life experiences: the time when he was 11 years old and a black disc flew down by his window and shocked him, leaving a scar on his leg. Sounds weird, but watch the clip below and you can see it's no joke. ( Complex )
During his promotional run behind Food & Liquor II , Lupe Fiasco stopped by the Power 106 offices to speak with Big Boy and his crew. And while there, things got a little weird when the Chicago MC was allowed to open up about other topics. Like being visited by aliens at the age of 11. Yep, Lu was on the air talking about having an "experience" with extraterrestial beings that apparently left a scar on one of his ankles? This is too much.

“I know you’re sayin’, ‘Lupe rappin’ ‘bout the same shit/ Well that’s ‘cause ain’t shit changed, bitch,” says Mr. Fiasco on “ITAL [Roses]”, the third track off his fourth LP, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Part 1. As the title tells us, it's both an effort to hark back to his debut glory days and a testament to the self-indulgent nature of this 16-track record. As a consequence of the turbulence in Lupe’s world, part two might never ascend over the wreckage left in the wake of the shit that hasn’t changed: [...]

Lupe Fiasco – Food & Liquor II: The Next Great American Rap Album Pt. I (REVIEW) Lupe Fiasco has returned to music in the form that shot him to fame following release of his 2006 debut album Food & Liquor, rhyming words over beats in his own unique manner for the first time since The Cool . Following the epic 2011 failure L.A.S.E.R.S. the boldly titled Next Great American Rap Alubum is a step in the right direction, meandering back towards the fresh cool young Lu we all know and love. [...]

Once in a while a mixcast with love. That was the deal and here is my brand new 5th issue of TTQ while lots of things changed. I wrote and created the last issue in Helsinki in February while waiting for spring to come along. Since then I moved back to Berlin and spent the summer on too many parties and festivals to overcome a few changes and to enjoy life. Now, we face the start of october and the coming of fall. The Trend Quest is by now a fully integrated part of Pink-Pong, [...]

The Robert Glasper Experiment ’s Black Radio EP, which debuted earlier this year, has been said to be one of his most accessible releases to date but that is not to be taken as a criticism. Glasper, in his own words, is a man of many dimensions and this time around, “I’m just exploring my more hip-hop/soul side, but still jazz-infused ... So really, this is like a good collaboration album of hip-hop, soul, jazz… I think I’m the first one to actually do it right” (via NextBop ). Originally, Glasper called on distinguished guests, [...]

Plus, Green Day and Deadmau5.

Election Season is right around the corner, and it's a time when all Americans ask "Wait, what's the electoral college again?" and head to the voting booths in support of their candidate of choice. This year, with the amount of key issues at play, the upcoming decision is an important one, and has musical artists from all backgrounds coming together to encourage citizens to hit the polls. (If you missed Miley Cyrus and friends in a recent Rock the Vote video , it's well worth a watch.) But while many artists steer [...]

Mumford & Sons has the biggest debut of the year (so far)... Green Day is not UNO but DOS and I don't give a damn. No Doubt surprisingly has a less impressive debut than I expected. Other debuts in the Top 20 album chart Lupe Fiasco, Deadmau5, and Jake Owen . TOP TEN ALBUMS 1. MUMFORD & SONS - BABEL 599,915 // [...]
