So today is either the day you have been waiting for or dreading, depending on stance on LDR. Personally I don't really care anymore. But that is mostly because I don't care about ANYTHING anymore so that is just one more thing to not care about. It's pretty exhausting to have keep track of so so many things I no longer care about. Arizona's Lymbyc Systym played Ottawa's Mavericks on March 14, 2011. This was my first time seeing this band play live in Ottawa. It was one totally epic set! Very out of this world with the instrumental post-rock experimental music. The show was amazing and totally enjoyed it. Here are the photos [...]

We put this mix together for one of our favorite local bookstores, WORD . If you are anywhere near Greenpoint, you should probably go there right now and buy a book or two (if not, just go to their website and buy some online). This mix explores the more electronic/postrocky side of GIMME TINNITUS. We even went and dropped all the mp3s in a convenient zip file just for you. Download then listen. Downloadable: almost no WORDs Mixtape (mediafire) I also uploaded a few individual mp3s from the mix, [...]

It's time to listen to the tracks I have not posted recently. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. These are some of the songs that would get there own individual posts on here on GIMME TINNITUS, if I only had the time. This mix starts out heavy and then gets weird. Listen. Downloadables: Forsaken (mp3) by Kylesa (D/L the Metal Swim Compilation @ Adult Swim ) NEW SONG (mp3) by PROFESSOR [...]

Editor's Note: In case you're not familiar, we used to do a segment on this blog called If You Could See This Song where we'd use photos from local art website Fecal Face and pair them with some of our favorite instrumental tracks. Well it's time we brought that back with a whole new batch of stunning photography (click picture for photographer's website) and groundshaking instrumental music. Best, Shawn Kaitlin Mosley (Philadelphia, PA) [...]
Statues, huh? I guess everybody needs a little lovin' in the end.

Oh sure, they're showing all the good stuff, but they conveniently left out the chuds and the pimps. Lymbyc Systym - Bedroom Anthem

Brothers Jared & Mike Bell have been playing music together since they were young. As Lymbyc Systym , they've spent the last several years making music together from a distance. Jared had relocated to New York and Mike had spent some time here in Austin, meaning the creative process of making music involved crafting demos and e-mailing recordings back and forth to each other. The guys are both now living in the same city for the first time in years which should make the next recording an easier process. In the meantime, we caught up with [...]

Lymbyc System is made up of Tempe-born brothers Jared and Michael Bell. Although three years apart, the two wander the venue looking like twins. Unassuming as all's hell, they hang out with the crowd during Helios one-man-band opening set, and sell their own merch after the gig is up. Never one bit of attitude or cocky glare to remind you that, "Hey, bro', we toured Japan."

Ok so a week into 2010 is a bit late for a "best of 20093 post but any regular readers (are there any?) will know i've had problems with hard-drives, my internet connection, my laptop in general and more recently some other stuff has came up that has prevented regular posting recently. But back to the post.. Deciding on the songs and the order of them for this Top 30 was a hard decision (the Top 30 albums was even harder, post that at the weekend) [...]

We've got one pair of tickets for a lucky soul this week, an all-inclusive night of ambient and post-rock at Cafe du Nord: Lymbyc Systym , Helios (Portland) and Cloud Archive (Saturday, 9:30pm). Lymbyc Systym (Tempe) is a sibling duo who have kept the momentum going since early last year: doing a split EP and tour with This Will Destroy You , and a full-length in November which they're promoting now by touring with Helios. Shutter Release ( Mush Records ) is a smooth continuum [...]
Lymbyc Systym revels in atmospherics and nuance. The sparkle is in the chaff of nickel-wound guitar strings, the cosmic blips that underlie the electro-glide, the fortitude of the horns. Brothers Mike and Jared Bell are an anomaly, smack dab in the middle of the electronic and indie movements. Crafting instrumental epics, the duo can take nuance and inflate it with grandiose revelry, evident on
