I just got off a plane from the west coast, had 12 hours in New York, now I'm heading back to the airport to go the Roskilde Festival. I had to rush this edition because I had 400+ submissions to go through in such a short time, but I promise the submissions I didn't get to WILL be listened to next week. Thanks for all the support this week friends! Remix Sunday 120 Zipped Up [231mb zipfile] White Williams - " Violator " (Stay High Remix) A Girl & A [...]

Anathallo is an indie band from Chicago. They have unique experimental folk style which really makes their music their own. The sounds they play with come from a diverse arsenal of instruments such as bells, trumpets, the flugelhorn, trombones, the piano. They also use unconventional instruments like the sound of velcro or even pipes. To accomplish this is no easy task, but anathallo does it quite gracefully. Do your ears a favor and listen to anathallo now! Hanasakajijii (four: a great wind, more ash) Don't Kid Yourself, You Need a Physician [...]

Mae – Singularity Mae is a power-pop rock group from Norfolk, Virginia whose name is an acronym for Multi-sensory Aesthetic Experience, based on a hypothesis developed by drummer Jacob Marshall while a student at Old Dominion University, pretty weird. "Singularity" is Mae's third full length release and their major label debut on Capitol records. This CD seems like Mae's surrender to their power-pop nature, allowing more keyboard prominence, while they still hold on to a basic rock group sound. Although Mae seems to fall under the obsessed teenage girl fanbase they still manage to create [...]

Where to begin? Chris had called me wondering if I wanted to fill the fourth seat in the car for their trip to Wisconsin and after all but a minute of thinking, I agreed to go. I'd yet to really get to know Chris and his roommate, so I didn't know exactly how it would go down. Well, the trip ended up being a blast and far surpassed any of our expectations. We spent 20+ hours on the road traveling there and back, and took turns playing music throughout the trips. As with any group of people, the music tastes [...]

Before I start, I have to say three things. One, I hate Carlos Mencia with a passion. What the hell is wrong with you Comedy Central? He steals jokes and just makes jokes and skits based on extreme stereotypes. Two, anyone who has complained that talking on a cell phone while driving is dangerous obviously hasn't tried texting while driving. Now that's dangerous. And three, I now hate myspace even more after filling out some questions for an interview and losing it all after clicking send and it just disappeared. Alright, [...]

Last night Brian and I took Braeden to see The Fray at the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ. This was Brae's first "big" concert. He sat on my shoulders when The Fray came on stage, he swung his arms, clapped his hands, screamed and giggled. It was awesome to witness how excited he was over this show. And he is only 3 years old, I can't wait to see how he is when he is older. There are many more concerts in your future my Brae boy. Mae was great, [...]

Picture taken by an old friend. Check out his stuff here . I love when certain songs take you back to a specific point in your life. Whether it was the best moment of your life or one you'd rather forget, there's no doubt that a song is powerful enough to place you in that one moment of time. Here are some of my music-related memories in the last few years: Eisley - Telescope Eyes from Room Noises [...]

The World Forgot is nearing our first birthday. We've come a long way from our first post. In fact we've come along way from that first mix album we threw together and emailed [and in some cases actually mailed] to our close friends. Now it's been almost a full year since this little blog was created and what once started as just a space to host our series of EA Mix albums has grown up into something a little more sophisticated. At least we hope it has. In honor of this upcoming milestone, as [...]

There's something about Beatles covers that I just love. Think of any artist or group and I bet you ten to one that they've done at least one Beatles cover song. Even though there are so many bad covers circulating in the music world, there are just as many covers that are excellent. Here are some of my favorite Beatles covers of the moment: Acceptance - Eleanor Rigby The Format - I'm Only Sleeping Toad the Wet Sprocket - Hey Bulldog from I Know What You [...]
