I know this song isn't brand new but, I was introduced to Robin Thicke 's song Magic last night and fell in love. Magic was is a cover of a song that sounds like it would have come out of the 70's. Uncanny catchiness and great great great twee pop sensibilities soak the new single from Swedish duo The Sound Of Arrows , called, of course, M.A.G.I.C. It's so overtly cutesy (without the whole "makes-me-want-to-puke thing"), there's no way possible for you not to come away from listening to The Sound Of Arrows not totally happy. And impressed. We really liked this mash-up. Jack Conte is doing it in a really human way too-by not using computers and software to record the original sounds. Of course, he's definitely using computers to manipulate the sequencing and some processing of the song for the final recording. Really nice work though. Conte's influences include: Incubus, Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith, Brahms, Jon Brion, Beck, the Mars Volta, Chopin, Brad Mehldau, Ella and Louis, and Bjork.
