Today we have a track of "dubbed-out, psychedelic synth pop" from the Chicago quartet known as Magical Beautiful . The band's new album, Here Come The Wild Waves is the band's first "official" full-length. Influenced the DIY hardcore ethic, the band handled the entire process of recording the album which evolved out of four years of experimentation in the studio. Recently Magical, Beautiful released a new full-length album called "Here Come The Wild Waves". This is the band's first album in their current configuration, and it was four years in the making. Magical, Beautiful has long been the project of Tyson Torstensen, but on this fantastic, dub-psych album Tyson is joined by Nick Broste, Charlie Vinz, and Alance Ward. And now the latest video from Chicago's local-band-in-their-practice-s pace-filmers Giant System . This week, they turn the camera on Chicago's self-desrcibed "Jazz-gae" outfit Magical Beautiful . As you can tell by the video, the band blends free jazz, electronic, spoken word, dub and minimalist elements in the eight minute plus performance. It takes some time to build, most great modern jazz songs do, but when it does reach it's climax after the four-minute mark, it contains a killer groove.
