In the Autumn Magnus Weideskog released his debut EP and any day now his first full length album, "Unga hjärtan" (Sony Music), will be available. Magnus has been compared with Ted Gärdestad , which I agree with to some extent, especially cosidering his voice. One description could be soft pop in Swedish. Delicate lyrics that never get trivial and a production that's exemplary minimalistic which gives the music an honest and close expression. It'll be interesting to listen to the new album soon. Dagens första video är från Magnus Weideskog. Låten som är en småpopig historia med sköna rytmer kommer från Magnus självbetitlade EP. Den snitsiga videon med de klassiska dylan-skyltarna är regisserad av Mats Udd som bland annat gjort video åt Jonathan Johansson tidigare. Magnus släpper ett album i januari som är inspelt med hjälp Josef Zackrisson, Magnus Tingsek och Ken Ring. Ett smakprov på samarbetet med Ken kan ni se och höra här . Ah, to be young and carefree, full of piss and vinegar. Can't say that I'm crazy about this track once divorced from the (excellent) video (above), but it's not bad on its own, not at all. It's got an effortless lilt to it that befits the lyrics. Also, watching the clip and then putting on the mp3 helps me with my Swedish comprehension skills. Beyond that: perfectly pleasant. Good enough!
