Coke Weed's second album "Nice Dreams" transports us to the pensive corner of the garage rock world.

« Magpies, Maps and Moons » achève une trilogie d'EP de la part de DJ Food qui a débuté en 2009 avec « One Man's Weird Is Another Man's World » et qui continua avec « The Shape of Things That Hum » . L'EP est sorti depuis déjà quelques mois mais il est là pour introduire la chronique de son nouvel album « The Search Engine « . Ça n'est pas tous les jours que nous avons le droit à cinq titres originaux du papi de Ninja Tune [...]

Somewhere behind all the paranoia and the misery and the smoldering anger, somewhere deep and almost inaccessible, there is a part of Thom Yorke that wants to be a club DJ. And not a progressive and forward thinking kind of beat slinger. No, a four-on-the-floor-with-a-found ation-of-bass-strong-enough-to -sink-Ibiza-into-the-azure-Med iterranean kind of DJ. Despite his excellent surprise sets with Flying Lotus out in L.A., it's unlikely that we'll ever see this side of Yorke commit anything to tape. Thankfully, Modeselektor, who not so incidentally are frequent collaborators of Yorke's, have remixed "Good Morning Mr. Magpie" (retitled " Good Evening Mr. Magpie ") as a club-ready floor filler for [...]
On Friday we heard Thom Yorke sing on two new Modeselektor songs , and over the weekend, the Berliner's remix of Radiohead's "Good Morning Mr. Magpie" surfaced, though renamed as "Good Evening Mrs. Magpie". I sense a bit of quid pro quo going on. I also sense that Berlin electronic music fans are the overall winners here. Check out Modeselektor's 8 minute throbber; it's set to appear on Radiohead's upcoming King of Limbs remix album, TKOL RMX 1234567 . [...]

A day after the blogs went crazy over some watermarked Modeselektor songs that featured Thom Yorke, we get a different spin on the collaboration. On the remix of "Morning Mr Magpie," which gets a gender and timeframe switch on this version, Modeselektor goes off a bit a delivers a pretty cool extension on the original. This, of course, is the latest in a long line of remixes from The King Of Limbs , which will all be released on October 11th under the title of TKOL RMX 1234567 . Check out "Good Evening Mrs Magpie" below.

Earlier today, we posted two new tracks from the German production duo Modeselektor, both of which feature one Thom Yorke on the mic. And now another track from the Radiohead/Modeselektor connection is out in the world. Modeselektor remixed Radiohead's The King Of Limbs track "Morning Mr. Magpie" for Radiohead's TKOL RMX 1234567 project, retitling it "Good Evening Mr. Magpie" for some reason and transforming it into a jackhammering eight-minute dance track. We. Want. More. http://widgets.beggarspromo.co m/T11ck_dwld_o08/widget.html (Désolé pour le lien, faudra vous forcer un peu...) Filed [...]
Here's the third installment of remixed Radiohead songs that come from their latest album The King Of Limbs .

A few weeks ago, I posted two Radiohead remixes the band released; here's the second group. There are three remixes of two songs from the band's latest album, The King of Limbs . Two artists, Harmonic 313 and Mark Pritchard took turns at re-interpreting the Radiohead track Bloom . Nathan Fake remixed the track Morning Mr Magpie . If you haven't heard of any of these artists doing the remixes, don't feel too bad I'm sure nobody else has either. Regardless, these are solid remixes that I [...]

Here is one of the first leaks from the second set of remixes that Radiohead is releasing, "Morning Mr. Magpie." Nathan Fake did his thing on this song and he will be joined by artists such as Harmonic 313 and Mark Pritchard on the slew of tracks. Fingers crossed for a North American tour sometime this decade from the gents. Download: Radiohead - "Morning Mr. Magpie" Nathan Fake Remix

"In-between singles and in-between shows Edda sits at home restless. Welcome to Edda's home, she lives in a round and small place." The song "Magpie's nest" comes off of Edda Magnason 's debut album "Goods" , out now via Adrian Recordings .
Song is kinda melancholy and the visual fits that vibe but it is beautifully shot. Here's the official plug: " Moddi , AKA Pål Moddi Knutsen , comes from the remote and blustery northern Norwegian island of Senja, in the bipolar land of the summer Midnight Sun and winters of total darkness (only lit up by the Aurora Borealis). With a borrowed accordion and a sea-blue guitar, he began captivating listeners with music that has been described as a blend of Damien Rice and Bjork . The talented and original [...]

Whoever said good things don't come in small packages has obviously never been to Chicago's own Schwag City. The venue, located in the near South Side Mexican stronghold of Pilsen, is actually the home of local psych-gazers Nude Sunrise. This last Saturday, the house was rigged for Schwagstock 5, a micro noise festival so off the radar, I had to e-mail the Nitetrotter blog just to get an address. The physical layout of the house doesn't seem like it could really support a festival. Perf...
