CLOUDLESS May24th + 25th at Seattle's Comet Tavern. Here's everything you need to know!

Maximo Park make their much awaiting return to the music scene this summer after a well deserved but much missed three year break. The National Health is the new album, due out on DATE, and it's already gaining some major love including a 'Hottest Record of the World' feature from Radio 12s Zane Lowe. The guys were in London late last month for some promo time and we were honoured to join them for what would be there first ever YouTube session! Maximo Park - The Undercurrents [...]

We grew up ... in different parts of the country but ended up finding each other in the good old northern city of Leeds! Now you can find us in … either in Leeds and London. It all started when ... Tommy Evans (drummer) and Dom Ruckspin (sound designer) were inspired to set up a live dubstep band after they worked on a project together at the York Minster in 2008. They handpicked the rest of us from the vibrant music scene in Leeds and that was the beginning of Submotion. [...]
Well, we made it through Winter – although you wouldn't notice here in Seattle on the first day of Spring 2012.

Germany's elpierro returns to the Mahogany Guest mix series for a second time after previously delivering one of the best deep house mixes we've heard in years. He's remained true to his love of low-tempo, deep house music - all of which are through his huge archive of original vinyls. Perfect mix for driving around at night! 1. NORM TALLEY - The Journey (Scott Grooves Panther Remix) 2. ROZZO - Unreleased Remix 3. WBEEZA - He So Crazy (Original) 4. DETROIT GRAND PUBAHS - Sandwiches (Secret Button Bureau Bootie) 5. [...]
What would we do if we found little E.T.'s out there? With the paranoid world leaders we put up with (and of course the media), we'd be FREAKING OUT.
Originally premiered by the folks at SXSW, Mahogany debut their brand new video for "Keystone Sonata", taken from the duo's forthcoming EP, Electric Prisms . Reminds me of The Left Banke projected into the future.
SXSW 2012 - Bands to Watch #1 - Mahogany Here's the first post where I attempt to sway SXSW attendees and music fans in general into investigating some of the Austin music conference's most talented and inspiring bands. Not all of these acts are new, and many have several albums, singles and/or exhausting tours under their belts. But there's a lot to cover, and I promise I won't waste your time with hype. First up is Mahogany , one of the quintessential dream pop groups of the last decade and [...]
We're big fans of genre fusing at HMCMB. Maybe it's because it's easy to write about, maybe it's because we've had our share of landfill indie, or maybe it's just because it sounds great. That's up for debate, what isn't, is the promise of Courts. The Essex lads came to our attention via their brilliant session on Mahogany Blog (above). Though having looked through our iTunes, there does seem to be an early recording by them from back in June last year... Odd. Mysteries aside, these guys really know how to get ears pricking. The Essex lads blend [...]

Black Mahogani present a grooving number complete with faux documentary style video that was even shot "on location!" This is the first music in 2012 from the head of the Black Mahogani collective, whose goliath reputation proceeds him. Moodymann is often imitated, yet rarely surpassed.
Mahogany Introducing is the brand new series within our existing YouTube channel and it's dedicated to showcasing some of the best emerging talent and this country, and others, have to offer. Gabrielle Aplin is a self-taught, self-made star in her own right having made a name for herself on YouTube as a young teenager releasing numerous folky covers of the likes of James Vincent McMorrow, Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver and more but she's much more than that and now she's got a delectable selection of her own music gearing up to be released this year. Home is the first [...]
Only unearthed this beauty earlier in the year (thanks to Rhythm Connection), one of them moments that give you faith in finding hidden gems left out there. I was hooked in by the vocal, then when... DOWNLOAD/ STREAM http://www.feelmybicep.com

Winter, eat your heart out. Austin's annual South by Southwest music festival has been slowly releasing its list of bands traveling to the Lone Star state this Spring and, yes, Chicago is represented. On tap to play the 2012 edition are sunny pop rockers Gold Motel , dancehall DJ Chrissy Murderbot , acoustic folker Musikanto , lo-fi ambient poppers U.S. Girls , and Chicago - by way of Philadelphia - [...]

Germany's Hannes Fischer only just featured as our Producer of the Week for his fantastic originals and bootlegs and he's kindly found the time to create an exclusive Mahogany mix. Have a listen, read some words from the man below and keep an eye for him in 2012! Hannes Fischer // Mahogany Mix 005 01. Ferrein - Tomorrow (Live Teaser) 02. Kolombo - Waiting For (Original Mix) 03. Andre Obin - Soft Rain (Patrice Baumel Future Mix) 04. Little Dragon & Tycho - Little Man (Slow-Mo Edit) 05. [...]

You might have never heard of London's LazyTalk until today but we truly believe that you'll start to hear a hell of a lot more of them as we move into the new year. These are boys who despite playing the standard drums, guitars, bass and vocals -- never let their passion for drum and bass fade and that's why they're so distinctive. We headed down to their book shop in North London and they played two outstanding tracks that are currently doing the rounds online and the film crew were blown away! [...]
It was a wonderfully sun-drenched (but still bloody chilly) day in West London that we met with Marlon Roudette and although we're more than familiar with his former time in Mattafix, this was the first time we'd heard his new solo project. European countries like Germany, Austria and Switzerland and already Marlon-mad hitting the shops and online to take his single New Age to the number 1 spot but I got the impression that he's much more focused on the music than the chart positions. His new EP just dropped called Riding Home featuring four tracks, [...]

Jack Daniel's have walked hand-in-hand with music since Mr. Daniel's himself started the Silver Cornet Band in his hometown of Lynchburg in an effort to draw bigger crowds to his saloons to try his famous sour mash whiskey. Over 80 years later, the musical relationship is stronger than ever and we were lucky enough to be invited to Tennessee last month to see it first hand for their annual birthday celebrations which included some very special live performances from a truly steller lineup. The crew [...]
While we wait for Mahogany's new Electric Prisms EP, here's a preview of a new song and a much more sparse lineup than we've seen in the past. Andrew Prinz has really bloomed as a front man, and his confidence is on display here. And that Jaclyn Slimm is kind of a knockout as well! [...]

I grew up … in 26 different houses, but it all began on a small fishing Island off the West coast of Canada called Sointula BC. Idillic as it comes! Now you can find me in … East London, Hackney way, which I found out yesterday whilst looking online at my Family history is where my Grandmothers family has lived since 1670! It all started when … my father played Mingus records to me whilst in the womb! Along with much dedication, love and encouragement from my Mother. [...]

We've had all kinds of artists perform on our channel, across dozens of genres, but never have we had an Opera singer and there isn't a better classically trained Opera singer on the planet more suitable than the stunning Katherine Jenkins to be the first. Miss (soon to be Mrs) Jenkins recently released a cross-over LP incorporating a slightly more mainstream and accessible sound entitled Daydream so the timing couldn't be better! To term 'not just a pretty face' was invented for acts like Katherine and it was not only absolutely incredible to watch, it was [...]
