It took a while to get going, but Male Bonding's performance was solid overall, and remarkable towards the end
MALE BONDING, SONS OF HUNS ( Bunk Bar , 1028 SE Water) In another era, Male Bonding's "Tame the Sun"—the opening track on Endless Now —would be a dappled, flaring, gently rippling psychedelic jam, something like Traffic's "Paper Sun" or the Velvet Underground's "Who Loves the Sun," to name two other tunes with the word "sun" in the title. The back cover of Endless Now , Male Bonding's second full-length, bears this out, with the London trio (a four-piece in the live setting) posed in a field of flowers, a detailed cloudscape overhead. In [...]

You know you're at a hipster show when you make a joke about the "guy in the toque" (beanie/knit hat for you Americans) and your friend asks "which one"? Such was the crowd as East Lahhhndon foursome Male Bonding (now! With added live guitarist Nathan Hewitt from Cheatahs!) at the Electric Owl Lounge in Vancouver on October 21st. But whatever - hipsters can sometimes be appreciative, fingers-on-the-pulse indie rock punk pop soothsayers who comb through underground blogs to find the next Sub Pop buzz band. And so, we hipsters present: Male Bonding! Whom I really [...]
Male Bonding play Chop Suey, October 22 w/ Unnatural Helpers, Virgin Islands and Fucking Eagles The 2nd Annual Heineken City Arts Festival kicks off Thursday night, featuring headlining sets from Robyn , Crystal Castles , The Long Winters , The Felice Brothers and Allen Stone . I'm hobbled a bit, recovering from a torn calf muscle, so I'll be picking one venue and sticking with it, as the distance between venues is more than my limp and I are comfortable with. Since Allen Stone appears to [...]

Male Bonding - What’s That Scene? (Endless Now, 2011) Londralı Male Bonding’i geçen yaz, ilk abümleri Nothing Hurts’le tanıdım. Yaz sıcağında bile beni yerimden oynatabilen haylaz bir punk yapıyorlardı ve 2-3 dakikalık şarkılarındaki melodileri izlemeyi sevmiştim. Yeni albümleri Endless Now ilki gibi Sub Pop etiketiyle çıktı.
September's compilation is massive... I don't know where to start. These twenty tracks from the past month, ranging in every style from soothing folk to Halloween-themed hip-hop, offer greater diversity than usual - and it's not just due to the sheer number of tracks. New tastes on Obscure Sound have emerged with several new writers [...]

Male Bonding at the Brudenell Consider this an introduction, partly because many of you may have never visited nor even heard of the lovely Brudenell Social Club . The main reason for this is because it is in Leeds, England, where I, DJ Ones, am currently stationed for my year on exchange. I found myself looking for great music clubs in this fine city and stumbled across the Brudenell Social Club, where I learned that KNC favorite Megafaun had played a handful of days before my arrival in the U.K. When I heard [...]
(Chk Chk Chk) e conhecer parte do novo
You know those tacky signs at the seaside where you can pay to put your head in a cutout and get photographed for a special souvenir? Well, Male Bonding have, in their own unique way, taken that concept and used it in the promo video for their song 'Tame the Sun'. Watch it below. The band's second album, 'Endless Now', is available now from Sub Pop. Click here to view the embedded video.

Fat Cat There's been a few pieces recently about the growth of anti-marketing in music, with artists hiding behind disguises or pseudonyms and refusing to engage the media by giving interviews or offering a backstory. Scotland's Twilight Sad can't undo the profile they've gained in the past four or five years of making deafening, gloriously miserable rock music but on their just-announced third record, they're at least trying to get folks to avert their eyes - or at least that's what one surmises from their decision to name it No [...]
Following up 2010 debut Nothing Hurts, London's own Male Bonding is already back with another new release. The 12-track, 36-minute Endless Now (Sub Pop) was recorded at Dreamland Recording Studio in Woodstock, N.Y., with John Angello (Kurt Vile, Thurston Moore, Dinosaur Jr, et al). A fan of '90s nostalgia? Download an mp3 of album track [...]

Subpops emerald threesome Male Bonding have finally released their sophomore disc entitled ' Endless Now ' and I can't tell you how stoked I am. The album contains a bunch of gems and really echos that whole garage beach bum sound that I've come to truly adore and expect from the London brude. The new release includes 12 tracks of the most tender tenderness and I expect will be ranked pretty high up on thee ol' pitchfork meter, so go out and grab the record but most importantly go to the show! the drummer is unbelievable. [...]
