Yalls Real Fantasy TerrorEyes TV Session (Video) Hands down my favorite Yalls song, “Real Fantasy” is the latest track to be released as part of LA’s TerrorEyes TV session . This live version that includes Man/Miracle and Some Ember frontman Dylan Travis is a deep funk whirlwind where Dan Casey’s shrill melodies and fantastic neo-soul beats are brought to life. Love this. Two suggestions. Kidnap Dylan and go on a national tour. If you book them, they will come. Yalls [...]
I discovered Dylan Travis and his band at the time, Man/Miracle when I was living in San Francisco in the spring of 2008. I was instantly drawn to his live performance that exuded so much heart, he held nothing back on stage. Not to mention, Man/Miracle plays some extremely catchy tunes that just make you want to smile. This is actually my second interview with Dylan, the first being an unreleased video interview we did last May. Maybe the video will come out one day when he is super famous and [...]
Some Ember : Deep Ocean Dylan Travis tends to work within guitar-centered environments , forcing rousing pop songs through a lo-fidelity spectrum. But through his alias Some Ember , he flips his work onto its side, giving it a glossy new sheen. ‘ Deep Ocean ’, unlike Travis’ work as Man/Miracle , is electronic-based. Packed together with soaring synth lines and a breathtaking vocal performance; it’s in the vein of M83, such is its unrelenting euphoria. <a href=” http://crashsymbols.bandcamp.c om/track/deep-ocean” _mce_href=” http://crashsymbols.bandcamp.c om/track/deep-ocean”> Deep Ocean by Some Ember</a> [...]

Deep Ocean by Some Ember Man/Miracle frontman Dylan Travis has been keeping his electronic side project under wraps for some time, but today Some Ember debuts with "Deep Ocean." The track is part of a killer electronic/hip-hop compilation fresh out, Dope Mountain Fuck Vol. 2 . The compilation marks a new beginning to a preexisting label collaboration amongst friends, Crash Symbols . Here's more on that: About a year-and-a-half ago I first met [...]

words and pictures by @braidofsmoke Unknown Mortal Orchestra melted maddddd faces off on when they played Glasslands along with Hospitality, Blouse, and Man/Miracle last week! Portland's Blouse , who shares bassist Jacob Portrait with UMO, sounded so clean and sharp I almost mistook them for a recording when I got to Glasslands. Check this great video of them performing "Into the Black" from Bleary Eyed Brooklyn . Click here to view the embedded video. [...]

Two big local-focused events top this month's calendar. First, we're pleased to be co-producing the free, all ages 2011 Rock Make Street Festival , taking place on September 17th at Treat Avenue and 18th Street in the Mission District. Additionally, the Mission Creek Music Festival returns to SF and Oakland for its [...]

The Portland psych rockers schedule San Diego gig // Follow Owl and Bear on Facebook and Twitter for contests, MP3s, and links that don't make it onto the blog.

As late August threatens to draw our season of laziness and idle behavior to a close, summer's end seems to have already been written on our Facebook walls. What with festival stage collapses from the Indiana State Fair to Belgium's Pukkelpop uniting disparate acts (from Sugarland to the Smith Westerns) and their unlucky fans, tragedy also struck the LA semi-vintage metal scene with the loss of Warrant frontman Jani Lane, which has perhaps incited numerous 80s hair metal groups to reform...

Gathered in the mix are fifteen tracks, all from Bay Area bands, that were posted on TheBayBridged.com in July. The Bay Bridged - Best of the Blog July 2011 Mixtape Tracklisting: [...]

Man/Miracle - "Meditations on Nothing" Here's a brand new song from Oakland's Man/Miracle , one of our favorite bands and a group you won't want to miss at Saturday's Phono del Sol Festival . There's been a lot going on in the M/M camp lately: new recordings, an upcoming cross-country tour, and a change in the band's lineup. To explain the new song and the group's plans, band member Dylan Travis gave us the following comment: This song is [...]
