Music videos accomplish what has never been done before in the history of media: They make experimentation a commercial enterprise. They afford musicians, filmmakers, and multimedia artists the chance to have their craziest ideas not only produced, but shown to a large audience. What's more, in the age of Internet video, indie productions are now on equal footing with million-dollar productions. There's no visual medium more diverse or creative than music videos. Thirty years after the launch of MTV, the format is not only alive and well, but it's matured, expanded, and become a part of our global culture. When [...]
21. Benjamin Francis Leftwich 'Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm' - 2011's preeminent folk record (from a man). 22. Manchester Orchestra 'Simple Math' - Intense and tranquil all the same. Stunning. 23. You Me at Six 'Sinners Never Sleep' - Boys grow into men for prime pop-punk. [...]

Gotta love B.o.B samples. On his new mixtape, E.P.I.C (Every Play Is Crucial), the talented Mr. Simmons samples the title track off Manchester Orchestra's last record, Simple Math .

This year I delved through nearly every album I listened to in 2011 to pick out my personal cream of the crop. This is probably my most comprehensive list of "best of" songs I've done for BWC thus far...Hope you guys enjoy. The top albums of the year should follow shortly! If there are any mislabeled, mis-tagged links, let me know and I'll get it fixed. I wouldn't be surprised if I muddled through a few misclicks or something trying to copy and paste everything over Tim Kasher // [...]
It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Manchester Orchestra and it's no secret that anything Andy Hull touches often turns into a melancholic spine tingling piece of music. Here is a prime example, you can see him covering The Strokes' "What Ever Happened" from their 2003 album Room on Fire . Andy lends his delicate guitar work and new and improved vocal range to the cover making it a delight to watch. Check it out for yourselves above.

The Manchester Orchestra frontman dishes out an acoustic cover of The Strokes' "What Ever Happened?".
Enquanto o Rock 'n' Beats juntou nomes da cena brasileira para reinventar as faixas do aniversariante do ano, o álbum de estreia do The Strokes , Is This It?

Manchester Orchestra made their debut at the 9:30 Club on 11/14 as part of the Pac Tour with special guests The Dear Hunter and White Denim. Led by Andy Hull, the 90-minute set showcased the band's raw talent in a live atmosphere, playing songs off of their recent album Simple Math . While many may believe such an emotionally dynamic band could only pull off their power sound in a studio production, Manchester Orchestra 's drummer Tim Very translates the album's strength with the additional percussion forces of Chris Freeman [...]
