Although the gig was late last year my memory of it is still as vivid as ever, not because I was a huge fan prior to the event but instead how it made myself and the others in the audience feel towards the band. Really kinda mind blowing to see them completely tear through the near hour long setlist in front of such a huge global stage... Humbling really, to see that band in your back pocket reach that pinnacle of success. Good for them. /tear

The inaugural  Bunbury Music Festival  runs July 13-15th at Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove in Cincinnati, Ohio. Weezer, Death Cab For Cutie, Guided By Voices, and Jane's Addiction top the lineup, and they'll be joined by Dan Deacon, Manchester Orchestra, RJD2, Jukebox the Ghost, Ra Ra Riot, Grouplove, The Airborne Toxic Event, Minus the Bear, Maps & Atlases, LP, Foxy Shazam, 1,2,3, and YAWN, among others. If you missed the not-very-secret-at-all Manchester Orchestra show at the Earl last Friday, I'm going to take a second to rub it in and let you know that it was every bit as epic as you would think it would be. From the opening moments of their performance it was clear that the band was thrilled to be playing in front of their hometown fans in such an intimate venue, and about two dozen gushing Andy Hull thank yous later, the group wrapped up what is sure to be one of the local live music highlights [...]

Wow, this video is incredible.  From DANIELS (the same directors who made the equally mind-blowing video for Manchester Orchestra's "Simple Math") comes the first new Shins video in years.  Why should I attempt to explain anything when you can watch it right now?  Enjoy.

Don't get me wrong; I love Mumford & Sons. But I was thinking... Why have they been to the Grammys twice and received a spread in Rolling Stone, when Manchester Orchestra hasn't been noticed by the former and has barely been given a nod by the latter? Manchester Orchestra has been on Letterman four times. I believe Mumford has only appeared once. Why am I comparing the two?
