What? Three O.C. posts in a row? It won't happen again I swear (even though this season is no Blow-C like the past couple have been.) But you have to wonder whether it's really a coincidence that Ryan and Seth make a run for the border the night I get back from Mexico (in last night's "Gringos" episode.) Anyway, while I still have tequila wishes and refried dreams, it's nice to look at a latin-themed soundtrack for The O.C. Before Seth and Ryan make their run (to what looks more like [...]
i went to stay with a friend of mine this weekend & while we were driving around i hijacked the stereo & played him some tunes off my ipod. needless to say, he loved most of the tunes i played him & messaged me this afternoon asking for some of them. i thought while they were up on my server for him, you guys might like a listen too! all the links except the last one are straight to the mp3. dad's army jungle remix - goose my friend goose [...]
It is gonna be hot as hell this weekend for the Pitchfork Music Festival. Hopefully things cool down in Chicago a little for next weekend's Lollapalooza . One band that I will hopefully get to see again (for the first time in probably 8 years) is Poi Dog Pondering. Virtually unknown outside of Chicago, they are an eclectic blend of rock, various world musics, and electronica. Be sure to check them out if you get the chance. And here is another batch of tunes from Lollapalooza performers. It's less than a week away! [...]

Some dub and reggae flavored music for these melting days we've been having here lately at my city. I'll start with the classic reggae tune "I chase the devil" from Max Romeo which was later used as a sample on a certain Prodigy song and it comes from the album "The War in Babylon" which is an excellent album from start to finish and you should hunt it down immediatly if you like this sort of music. Next comes a track from Moderat, which is a collaboration between Modeselektor & Apparat (therefore, moderat, get it?), the song [...]

I don't normally post so many songs at once but I'm in a buoyant mood and I've been listening to these songs a lot which may have helped. This music combined with being off work today and a busy weekend ahead taking in Saturday at Oxegen has probably attributed to my sunny disposition. Plus Animal Collective and the Go! Team are playing and I only got a ticket yesterday so it's fresh anticipation that's got me in a good mood. If anybody is in Limerick tonight, head along to the Trinity Rooms where Super Extra Bonus Party will [...]
En Unión y Libertad - no se banca más Argentina. The Argentine. La República Argentina. Home of the gaucho, the Patagonia, the bonkers military dictatorship and some fine beef . But home of rock’n’roll? Maybe not quite so obvious. But, as with any repressive regime, dissidents will out and under Galtieri’s military junta, punk rock was one of the most direct critics of the government (a risky proposition in those days: although not quite the ‘disappeared’ of Chile, don’t think Louis de Bernières was as fictional as might first appear in The [...]
