Die dänische Band Moi Caprice , von denen ich zwei ziemlich gute Alben in meinem Regal stehen habe, haben die verdiente Aufmerksamkeit mit ihren nordischen Dream-Pop leider noch nicht erreicht. Eigentlich schade, den sie sind wirklich sehr gut. Vielleicht klappt es ja demnächst. Wie ich bei Chris von Music of The Moment gerade gelesen habe, arbeiten sie nicht nur an neuen Songs. Auch eine Compilation ist in Arbeit. Die Zusammenstellung verspricht auf 2 CD`s eine Menge: 14 Singles, 9 neu aufgenommenen Songs und zwei niegelnagelneue Liedern sollen es werden. eigentlich komme ich dieser tage zu nichts. und nicht, weil sommer ist oder es heißt, es sei sommer. nee, im gegenteil, arbeit ohne ende, jeden tag wieder neu und zwar so viel, dass immer ein bisschen übrig bleibt. zwölf stunden tage sind keine seltenheit, im klienicum dampfts also. da wünscht man sich texte wie die von tapete records , die bloß noch der verbreitung harren. ausgewogen geschrieben, nie zu dick aufgetragen, informativ und manierlich. auch zu maplewood fiel ihnen einiges vernünftige ein, so dass man am liebsten nur zitieren würde. tut man dann aber nicht, weil die [...]

• Maplewood - Long White Ride

I have no idea how the Brooklyn based band Maplewood would up on the German label Tapete Records . But based on my experience with the label it's probably a good fit. Maplewood's dreamy, dreary indie folk is apparently just what those Germans like as the band will set off for am month's worth of German dates in September. Speaking of new venues and restaurants: Deluxe , a new venture in Maplewood that's located across the street from the Maya Cafe (and the Focal Point ) at 2733 Sutton Boulevard, is set to open this Friday, September 12, for dinner starting at 6 p.m. Diesel Island will be playing the inaugural night, while the Dock Ellis Band is playing at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 13. On Saturday, August 2 at new coffeeshop the Stone Spiral (2500 Sutton Blvd., Maplewood; 314-335-7388), a benefit will be held in memory of Maplewood fireman Ryan Hummert. Scheduled to appear are Kevin Bilchik, Corey Saathoff, Math You and others. Music starts at 7 p.m., with a suggested donation of $5 or $10 at the door.
