The first taster of the forthcoming new album from Maps & Atlases Beware And Be Grateful , has been unveiled, and it's pretty damn good. 'Winter' represents the overall feel of the album quite well, with a driving/joyous quality filling every possible space. The album is released on April 16th through FatCat Records, and we suggest you mark that in your diaries, as it's a great album.
Maps & Atlases are one of my favorite bands to listen to as of late. Therefore the release of a new album is quite exciting. The trailer is quite an intriguing one that features a coffee-drinking, suited man dramatically describing a car accident from afar that may or may not have happened. Near the end he opens a door to a club that also allows our first listen of Maps & Atlases' new material. [...]
Maps & Atlases have let loose a cryptic trailer for their upcoming release Beware And Be Grateful . Not entirely sure what it means...if we're looking at a concept album or what, but I do hope there will be more of these shorts. I'm liking the album's crossed arrows logo, as well the snippet of new material at the end of the video sounds awesome...a fuller sound than I'm used to from the band. Beware and Be Grateful will come out on April 17th 2012.
