Been a busy week as ever here in my psychotic realm Despite this photo, it doesn't truly tell the story... There were also the usual barely veiled death threats, charity art auctions, bus & train riding, kilt wearing & scotch guzzling, way way too late nights, horrendous hangovers, hip hop fashion fiascos and underwear mayhem, fireworks and dancing on top of trucks, etc I'd go into greater detail...but it's all so insular, incriminating and really, who has time ... Sundays are always great for live music, and it's been a great sunday for me. A live performance of Cully Jazz Festival (in Switzerland 29. March 2007) by Marianne Faithfull who is the main reason for this lovely Sunday. That voice!, telling beautiful stories together with nice rock music. Seldom do i listen live records, because i believe that live performance should stay live. You want to taste

one of the great things about living in new york is access. access to all kinds of cool stuff at anytime. while we don't always take advantage of what the city has to offer, just knowing we can if we choose to feels like a victory over predictability. one of our favorite places to go on weekends is the museum of natural history . i've always had mixed feelings about that place: its enormous collection of stuffed specimens from the animal kingdom is, umm, more accessible than their living relatives in the bronx zoo. but the [...]
Klasse Idee. The man in the moon.Melancholisch, aufgedreht, abgedreht was weiß ich. Viel Spass damit: Marianne Faithful - The mystery of love mclusky - to hell with good intentions Noir Désir - Des visages des figures [...]
I approached this album with some misgivings, I must confess. Having heard the new singles and previewed the album on their myspace page before release. Ultimately, although I largely liked it, I must confess that their stuff didn't exactly set my eardrums a-tremble. After repeated listens however, I think that maybe this isn't quite fair. About two thirds of this album is really, really good. Where the problems arises is that it lacks the changes of pace and style that you tend to get on Blur or Gorillaz [...]

"I never gave to the rich. I never stole from the poor." Marianne Faithfull ~ Guilt from Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Some good news this evening: Marianne Faithfull has made a full recovery from breast cancer and expects to pick up touring next year. "It has been an extraordinary experience and, in many ways, extremely positive." We're betting, though, not so positive she'd choose it over a weekend at a Butlins holiday camp. music marianne faithfull

Marianne Faithfull- It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels Marianne Faithful's country album is all but forgotten. Faithless , from 1978, was her first release since the '60s and it wasn't until a year later that Broken English shattered popular and critical perceptions about her. Recorded with Joe Cocker's band, Faithless isn't entirely awful. Her stab at the Kitty Wells standard featured here has a certain woozy dancehall charm. She also has her way with Dylan's "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight." Faithfull [...]
Marianne Faithfull has been diagnosed with breast cancer, says her publicist : "The disease has been quickly discovered by doctors in France," said her publicist. "The prognosis for a return to full health is excellent." Faithfull is determined to lick the disease: I have absolute faith and confidence in my fantastic medical team and of course I will be well again, if not better than ever," said Faithfull in a statement. "Next year's tour, I want to assure fans, will be one big celebration." [...]
