Ian Kehoe's singer-songwriter debut is a good effort from top to bottom, even though his voice distractingly resembles The Mountain Goats' John Darnielle. Ian Kehoe describes Marine Dreams ' self-titled debut album as "a record of modern pop songs," but adds, "How is this possible? Even Marine Dreams cannot be sure." Cryptic, yes, but also wholly accurate.
