"I like to say this is the first new Doors track of the 21st century." - Ray Manzarek. I beg your pardon? Listen, I know that artists these days are trying to do whatever it takes to keep their music fresh for younger listeners even if that means completely changing their sound. Also, Ray Manzarek is a bit of a crazy bastard. But the statement made by the former Doors keyboardist to Rolling Stone regarding a forthcoming song done with dubstep producer Skrillex will definitely have people scratching [...]

Skrillex is a dubstep producer, often called the Justin Bieber of his genre (in that he's hugely popular and has the body of a 17-year-old boy). The Doors are a legendary rock group from the '60s that made rock music dark and sexy. These two acts have absolutely no reason to ever be mentioned together in the same sentence, yet alone collaborate on music. But that's just what director Amir Bar Lev ( The Pat Tillman Story , My Child Can Paint That ) did for his new film, RE:GENERATION . The film features [...]

Spank Rock 's new album "Everything Is Boring and Everyone Is a Fucking Liar" is incredible. But we wouldn't have expected anything less from the person responsible for one of our favourite ever records ("YoYoYoYoYo"), nor from an album that was in large part helmed by Boys Noize , alongside some other very talented collaborators and producers including Leif , XXXChange , Mark Ronson , Santigold and New Orleans bounce Kingpin (Should that be Queenpin?) Big Freedia . Having already posted once today we'll keep this short but draw your attention to what are in our opinion [...]

They boasted countless radio and MTV hits like 'Rio,' 'Hungry Like the Wolf,' 'New Moon on Monday,' 'Girls on Film' and 'A View to a Kill' -- not [...]
A stellar Adele remix (below) included in Aeroplane's April mix was our first introduction to Plastic Plates. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain (Plastic Plates Remix) His next big win was an official remix for Mark Ronson's "Record Collection," released on Kitsune earlier this month. I was in complete denial about summer ending till I went to the Caribbean this weekend and felt that amazing Cabarete beach weather - yeah summer is over. I've been traveling a lot my whole life, there's something about waking up in different countries within a matter of days that does it for me. I'll never take that for granted and music has made it possible so cheers to that. I woke up this morning still feeling like an islander but regaining my New York State of Mind and the first thing I did was put on the new anti-winter [...]
![[Sunday Pickup] Daft Punk, Justice, DJ Shadow, Moby, Mark Ronson, Basement Jaxx, Portishead & Many More Essential Mixes Circa 1993](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3728940_lg.jpg)
The Essential Mix Series on Radio One dates back to 1993, when on the 30th of October, Pete Tong first put out a mix on the show that became the first of hundreds that would grace the airwaves. Nearly 18 years on and they're still going strong as UK phenomenon James Blake put in a great sounding mix featuring just yesterday in the early hours debuting some brand new material from himself along with a wide spectrum of other musical genres. After posting the JB Mix I received a tweet from some friends over [...]

Well it must be easy to make hit records, when you can call on verses from the imperial Skateboard P , recent UK number one single artist Wretch 32, and grime godfather Wiley, as well as a hook from highly rated electro-poppers MNDR. Mark Ronson is a super-talented producer who, as one eminent music journalist once said has the ability to produce hard hitting hip-hop, synth driven pop, and crackling retro funk and soul. ( Confusion , 2010) Last years Record Collection was [...]

A brand new remix from French producer Logo for Mark Ronson's latest single Record Collection 2012. Logo add a bit more bounce to this already amazing tune. This remix and the original along with remixes from CSS, Moonlight Matters, Plastic Plates, DATABASE and Perseus, are out now on Kitsuné. Mark Ronson & The Business Intl - Record Collection 2012 (feat. MNDR, Pharrell, Wiley & Wretch 32) (LOGO Remix) .
Offered up here for your eyes is a weird and wonderful visual from Spank Rock for his track " #1 Hit " which we first got to hear back in July. The production duties fell to Boys Noize and Mark Ronson for this track and the video is filled full of some crazy looking characters that might unsettle a few stomachs so early in the morning, including the glasses wearing office guy in the video. None the less wake up and smell the coffee, hit play already! I don't think I'd like to see [...]

MNDR is the electronic duo of Amanda Warner and Peter Wade. Amanda writes the songs, takes on most of the personality of the band and is often featured as the solo participant during live performances. Peter provides the studio crunch and produces most of the tracks. Either way, they've released some pretty awesome pop jams over the past year or so. The MNDR sound lies somewhere between the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and M.I.A. Amanda is as good of a singer as Karen O. and has as much energy and [...]

Really dope show that you don't want to miss this weekend if you are in Miami. Felix Bloxsom, aka Plastic Plates, is responsible for two of the best remixes of the year. A rising star originally from Australia, the LA based DJ is starting to tour all over the world. What you might not know about him is that he is also the studio drummer for Empire of the Sun, The Presets, and Edward Sharpe among others. Here are a couple of my favorite songs of the year as well as a newer remix of the Mark Ronson [...]
Mark Ronson's 'The Record Collection 20122 is out now on Beatport and comes with a plethora of remixes - one to pick up is the Moonlight Matter's remix - even with some trigger finger rapping it's very cool - a proper piece of hands-in-the-air fisting-pumping disco; the energetic synths and slamming drums work especially well. Mark Ronson - Record Collection (Moonlight Matters Remix) by mutefashion Make sure you check out the Perseus remix too. And if you want a freebie and those pesky vocals taken [...]

So, as the picture above shows, there are quite a few remixes on Kitsune release of Mark Ronson 's "Record Collection". However, none really come close to one that Perseus did ( the Moonlight Matters one is cool though.. ). It's one of those remixes that transforms the track into something alot different from the original. It has a sentimental, but also a happy sound which you can dance to, without dissing the original too heavily, it gives the song a little bit more of a meaning. [...]
Arabia Mountain standout "Family Tree" is the most recent single from the Mark Ronson -produced effort from the Black Lips to get the video treatment. This time around, it's much more on the NSFW side of things with puking, blood, nudity, crucifixion, guy on guy, and I imagine some animal cruelty somewhere. Arabia Mountain is available now via Vice Records. Black Lips - Family Tree
Quick update of some tunes that have piled up over the last two weeks. Pleasurelove and Larse bring us groovy, smooth disco hits, LE YOUTH's new track "End of Summer" perfectly fits our seasonal mood as we transition back into school and Perseus wraps it up with a new remix of Mark Ronson's "Record Collection" [...]

By now everyone's heard all the remixes and buzz to do with Mark Ronson's "Record Collection." But did you know Perseus is offering a free download to the karaoke version of his remix? Now you know. I really love this version and I think it brings a total different side of this track to the decks. Out of all the remixes soon to be available, I'm going to be supporting the Perseus and Plastic Plates versions the most (they are all awesome, though). Hot stuff indeed!
