You might not know this, but we were fans of Mark Owen's early solo career. We totally fell in love with his semi-hit singles "Clementine" and lesser-known "4 Minute Warning." But, now that Take That are on a break as Robbie tries to finesse the lackluster tracks on his latest album, Mark is on the solo roll again with "Stars." The new album is called The Art Of Doing Nothing and it comes out June 10th. Related articles Spaceman! Mark Owen dresses up as an astronaut [...]

On May 13th, Neil Halstead releases Spin The Bottle , the second single to be taken from the Slowdive/Mojave 3 frontman's recent Palindrome Hunches LP. The lead track is a countrified re-working of the album version, which features drums from Ian McCutcheon of Mojave 3 and Slowdive and pedal steel from Melvin Duffy. Also featuring on the single is this rather beautiful remix of Full Moon Rising - one of Hunches stand-out moments. The remix and accompanying video comes courtesy of the much-heralded electronic maestro Mark van Hoen, and [...]

Los Angeles-based house label Young Adults will release its eight-track first compilation "House Slippers" on April 23th, complete with new tunes from Mark E, Suzanne Kraft, The Socialites, Grown Folk, Closed Paradise, and others. As we read the compilation "soundtracks the progression from dusk till dawn, complete with warm up burners, peak time jammers and comedown chuggers." Today, we got another taste of the "House Slippers" in the form of this deep and groovy remix of L.A.'s Suzanne Kraft "Maybe Snakes" by Munich's Permanent Vacation label [...]
Dove has had some brilliant and inspiring ad campaigns recently. I first noticed a powerful new direction with their men's skincare line where they had celebrity men open up in their "Comfortable in my own skin" ads. This time, they're targeting women with a psychologically powerful video, shown above. You have to watch it to feel the impact, but in a nutshell, they bring in a forensic sketch artist and have women describe themselves to him. Then they have another person describe the same lady, and finally compare the two sketches. It's incredible to notice the differences between how [...]

Hello readers, we're Neil, Mark & Scott but you can call us 'The Standards' We're based in London (UK) and we recently released our Debut album 'A Slight Distraction' which is the culmination of many years of struggle in this business we call "show" That's not to say it's been a tough time however, on the contrary. We've played some amazing places with some great bands all over the UK & Europe, met some wonderful people and continue to do so to this day. 2013 is looking like a busy one for [...]

By Stef Siepel April 12, 2013 The Weekly Froth! A weekly take on six tracks, most of which have recently popped up somewhere in the blogosphere. Bit of a mixed bag with a slight leaning towards house, disco, and remixes, but generally just anything that for some reason tickled the writer’s fancy. Track Of The Week: ‘Shine’ by Digitaria ( Morgan Geist remix) I love Morgan Geist , who also makes music under the alias of [...]

As spring begins to cycle into summer, we look to our trend-streaming leaders for entertainment and thrills of any sort. We saw Tyler the Creator taking selfies with Letterman on their televised performance of "Rusty", Vampire Weekend's Modern Vampires Of The City release date delays on account of "unanticipated delays" gave time for front bro Ezra Koenig to reflect and compare N-Dubz to The Beatles, while Rick Ross's "U.O.E.N.O"-rape-lyrics-gate scand...

I’ll admit that I haven’t really listened to anything by Mark Kozelek before. Once at a party someone played Sun Kil Moon, and I remember thinking, “This might be really awesome in the right setting.” Since then I hadn’t given much thought to Kozelek’s output, until recently listening to his latest record, Like Rats. Upon pressing play I was immediately struck by the feeling that I had heard something like Kozelek’s voice before. His rasping, deep, and oftentimes double tracked vocals are reminiscent of Swedish folkie Jose Gonzalez, or even a less raw Bill Callahan. [...]

DEEP ACID BASS Darlings of the House music cognoscenti Mark-E and Jacques Renault team up to deliver sumptuously upholstered track that will bore the shit out of the ladies. But it will pack a dance floor with 30+ males stroking their post-ironic moustaches in fervent appreciation.

If you want to see some raw fucking talent in the making then look no further than this motherfucker right here. This is how it is fucking done. You get real obsessed with music..then you try to produce the shit in your bedroom. Every now and then someone hits it right the fuck out of the park. Vio/ator is one such example. I am really liking the track "Rome". I am guessing if you keep coming back to hell you will too. More info: https://www.facebook.com/viola tormusic Filed under: [...]
