Tracklisting: 01. Claude Debussy - Footprints in the snow 02. Arvo Pärt - Sarah was nineteen years old 03. I'd like to call your attention to an absolutely brilliant mix from the folks at astrangelyisolatedplace . Ryan has been very kind to low light mixes over the years & I don't think I ever returned the favor. ASIP is a fantastic site for mixes & discovering new music. I especially like finding good, new electronica through ASIP. This mix from a favorite artist of mine, Marsen Jules. His new release, Nostalgia, [...]

Marsen Jules: "Sleep My Brother, Sleep" by alteredzones Marsen Jules' latest rings out pretty clear with its neoclassical New Age approach to one of the moment's main obsessions, nostalgia, which gives his latest (and so far most personal) album its name. Six years ago his Herbstlaub record was gripped by many for its "elegiac various of orchestral sound fragments" that stood out even from contemporaries like Wolfgang Voigt, and Nostalgia furthers the discreetly beautiful ambience even more. Marsen himself talks of "Sleep My Brother, Sleep" as "a warm [...]

[RSS Readers: See post to listen to audio] For the readers that come here for the design mostly then your mind must = blown after seeing the album art for Pop Ambient 2011. I personally love the color scheme and subject but hey... font wise and pixelated cutout background might be causing small paper cuts on some readers brains. If I remember correctly the designer of the 11 year series is no other than Mr. Kompakt himself aka Wolfgang Voigt aka Gas which in my mind he's allowed to do anything he wishes. If he [...]

Undomondo is going on a vacation for a week to the place you see above! We might have the time/connection to make some new entries or we might have no activity here, either way we'll be around soon with reviews of Nomo, Marc Ribot's new Ceramic Dog album , new releases from the Book of Angels series on Tzadik , as well as stuff from Sawako, Erik Levander, con_cetta and more... I've setup a tumblr blog thanks to a tutorial by Joe Lazarus , involving last.fm, yahoo pipes, seeqpod and [...]

It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides. The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence. It is nothing but love and emotion; it is the Living Infinite." ~ Jules Verne / 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ~ This series – consisting of three parts – pays tribute to the supernatural ambience of the [...]

. Simply the fact that such embroidered words are related to trivial consumer goods makes product poetry worth the considering. Many of the "poems" sound like extended versions of advertising copies. They explain the product philosophy, "invite" to positive feelings or appeal to the customer. This matches well with the routine of Japanese companies to emphasize their tireless efforts to satisfy the customers' high demands. When flattery and promises are expressed in more unexpected ways, "product poetry" creates a surprisingly new point of view concerning the product, and delights. - Pingmag [...]

The new album from Deutschland's Marsen Jules has appeared unexpectedly on radar as a bright green dot in a sketchily-charted triangle between Colleen's Les Ondes Silencieuses , the wonderful spooky things by Greg Haines and Elegi on Miasmah, and the Alva Noto/Ryuichi Sakamoto masterpieces on Raster Noton. In fact lots of Golden sounds like a lot of other things, but it is put together with such fastidious attention to detail, and comes together so cohesively that I must confess to having enjoyed it enormously. [...]

So I intended to harp on the many splendors of the Coachella Valley earlier on in the week, but I got taken down very hard by a bout of postpardumb depression that came complete with some world destroying illness. I spent most of the week indiscriminately wafting in and out of some sticky fusion of halfsleep and delerium, with the most tangible moments involving violent lungfuls of Indio's finest. But I did have fun at the time. I just couldn't wring any enthusiasm out of my vacant ass self until right around now... Anyway, quick rundown because I [...]
