Red Fang laugh in the face of the sophomore jinx.
I can't think of anything clever to say right now, so I'm just gonna leave to my homies, Ozzy and Forest: Here's what we did this week: Veil of Maya's Marc Okubo gave us our first Legacy Tour diary, Intronaut's Sacha Dunable gave us a lesson in why Californians should have voted to legalize weed, [...]
It takes condor egg-sized balls to name your band Masters of Reality and not be a bitchin' stoner doom band. But uber-producer/desert rock (or stoner rock or whatever) pioneer Chris Goss has the figurative stones to do so, as MoR are anything but metal. What they are, however, is a top-goddamn-notch rock band, managing to [...]
"It lasts about an hour", says one user, 16-year-old Luke Mpande, who prefers Jenkem to other substances. "With glue, I just hear voices in my head. But with Jenkem, I see visions. I see my mother who is dead and I forget about the problems in my life." "At the Lusaka sewage ponds, two teenage [...]
The internet is cool, but I'm totally relieved that it was invented after my teen years. I spent those years trashing all bands disrespectful enough to not copy Van Halen (then Metallica, then Carcass), so it's awesome that my half-baked opinions didn't appear online for all to see, say, in the comments section of some [...]
Well here's some good news. You know Chris Goss whether or not you know you know Chris Goss - he's "The Godfather of Stoner Rock," and has produced/engineered/otherwise worked with everyone from Queens of the Stone Age to Screaming Trees to Kyuss to Stone Temple Pilots to Auf der Maur to Kik Tracee (!!!). He's also [...]
One of my friends recently moved to Chicago and complained to me about the lack of good radio stations. This puzzled me, as it seemed to imply that there were good stations anywhere anymore. If there are, I don't know 'em, which leads me to ask this question:Jesse Malin – Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio? (The Ramones)Joey and the gang predicted the demise of radio by a good twenty years.

Thanks to everyone who has left a comment recently. All are greatly appreciated, and to show my gratitude, I am going to gross you out with tales of creepy-crawlies. One of the nice things about living out in the country is our proximity to birds and wild animals. I like most of them, but some that I don't like get a little too close. Various species seem to always be trying to take back the little territory we call our own. This summer I began [...]
Song: U.S.A. for U.S.A. Artist: Carnivore Album: Retaliation Comments: Pete Steele is one big guy and he works out. He could kick your ass just by looking at you. When he was in Carnivore and at Sunday matinees he stood above everyone else. Pete's ideas in Carnivore basicall took Agnostic Front's "Public Assistance" x 1000. He wasn't quite Skrewdriver and rarely called out individuals, but the ideas melded with Venom meets NYHC was pretty engaging. Song: V.H.V Artist: Masters of Reality Album: Sunrise on the Sufferbus Comments: I found the original [...]

There's bugs in the compressor, honey - that's why the truck won't go. Masters of Reality - Ants in the Kitchen (3.9MB mp3) from the album Sunrise on the Sufferbus ∞ ∞ ∞ What does this song mean to you? Leave a comment. [...]
Tonight is the season finale of Lost and the last lost for 38 or so weeks. They are going with the 24 format but with only 16 episodes a season. This is both good and bad. The station we last left Charlie in last week was the Looking Glass Station. The symbol was a rabbit. Since this is my last Lost related post for 38 weeks enjoy the references. Song: Black Rabbit Artist: Turbo Negro Album: Ass Cobra Comments: The band is inappropriate as their name indicates. [...]
Friday. The last day of most people's work week. most of us head home for a different kind of work. Some of us love that job and some of us... Don't. I love my other job. Though I would like a day off once in awhile. In coming weeks I get that day off, or should i say Week Off! I am assembling a bunch of other Slave to Shuffle playlist's from other Blog owner's, Musician's, and maybe even my son Dylan (his taste in music is better than my wife's). So stay tuned! As Paige Hamilton says.. "In [...]
