With Mastodon about to take the UK by storm along with the help of Dillinger Escape Plan in the coming month, the band have unleashed a rather trippy looking teaser for their new video. For The Hunter 's track " Dry Bone Valley" and it uses the animation we've come to get used to in their promo over the past 6 months along with a little surprise at the end. As well as that this one has thrown in an extra few bucket loads of acid. See what you make of the tease at the [...]

Mastodon will be taking Swedish metal acts Opeth and Ghost on tour in North America this coming April. Exact dates to be confirmed soon.
Last week, rumors started swirling that there was gonna be a North American tour with Mastodon, Opeth, and Ghost, and, oh hey, wouldn't cha know it, on Thursday, Mastodon's Troy "Everyone in This Band's Name Starts with the Letter 'B' Except for Me" Sanders confirmed it during an interview with a Belgian radio station, telling them [...]
YESSSSS!!!! A few weeks ago we reported on rumors that Mastodon, Opeth and Ghost might be touring together and that it HAD to happen and if it did, I would jizz myself. Well, it'a definitely happening... somebody hand me some tissues! In a recent interview, the 'don's Troy Sanders confirmed that they will be headlining ...

I love it when N8 submits his year-end lists. They are unpretentious, span a vast repertoire of genres, and typically include several albums I have yet to hear. N82s 2011 list fits the mold: in fact, I have yet to listen to any of the ones that made the list this year. Now this is not by lack of want or know - I'm familiar with many of the albums, just haven't gotten around to them. Dig in and enjoy! Intro by Fense * * [...]
Last week Vince posted the above totally epic picture of Trivium playing foosball against Ghost, and while we all had a good chuckle at the time, what we didn't realize was that the stakes of the game were actually incredibly high. See, the winners got to go open for Mastodon and Opeth, while the losers [...]
This is a rumor I really want to believe. Blabbermouth reported over the weekend that they are hearing that Mastodon, Opeth and Ghost are teaming up for a Spring tour. Holy fucking shit, if that's not a prog metal fans wet dream, I really don't know what is. Maybe if you add TOOL on top ...

Mastodon are one of those bands that can?t disappoint even if they tried. Having seen them live twice I'll definitely say that anyone looking to see them in concert is probably going to have a total blast. What's more important is that Mastodon are actually awesome guys in person. Troy Sanders and Brann Dailor sat down to talk about their new album... Read More/Discuss on Metal Underground.com
Mastodon's Troy Sanders recently spoke with MTV News Canada regarding a pending collaboration with pop/folk artist Feist. You can hear Troy speak on the details of the forthcoming 2012 Record Store Day special release in the video below. Read More/Discuss on Metal Underground.com
We are really excited about G.T.O. aka Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, the new supergroup featuring Brent Hinds of Mastodon, Ben Weinman of Dillinger Escape Plan and Eric Avery of Jane's Addiction. The band originally had Thomas Pridge, former drummer for The Mars Volta locked in to hit the skins but he is apparently out, so they ...

American mathcore outfit The Dillinger Escape Plan recently joined Red Fang in supporting Mastodon on tour stateside, and now that juggernaught of a billing is making its way to the UK. UK Tour Dates: 05-Feb // Bristol, O2 Academy 06-Feb // Manchester, Academy 07-Feb // Glasgow, Barrowlands 09-Feb // Norwich, UEA 10-Feb // Birmingham, HMV Institute [...]

Fan's dragon fly at Flaming Lips show, Sasquatch Music Festival in Memorial Day weekend. It's no secret that I take a lot of pictures. What's becoming less of a secret, though, is that I'm becoming less bad at it. Having spent so long as a photo editor, I'm naturally a bit more critical of photographs -- and especially my own. But thanks to lens upgrades (purchasing a 50mm prime, renting a 70-200mm) and software (Lightroom, Picknik), I'm getting awfully close to taking photos that I can [...]

We''ll continue our countdown today with songs #20 through #16. #20: Rustie - Ultra Thizz Glass Swords , Scottish producer Rustie 's first full-length debut, is full of songs like "Ultra Thizz," which takes a smart man's look in between dubstep and electro pop. In that regard, however, it rarely sounds like either of those genre's take collective footing in Rustie's underrated technique. "Ultra Thizz" simply does what Glass Swords does best; putting together recognizable pieces into something completely different. [...]

It's that time of year to look back on the past 12 months and say "what the hell happened to the last 12 months?!". It's also that time of year where us music bloggers and self-proclaimed critics take the time to put together some Best Of lists for your reading pleasure. They don't really mean a whole lot and you can love 'em or leave 'em, but it seems like the right thing to do to sum up the year in preparation of the next. This year we're featuring personal lists from all of our fantastic writers. [...]
Just the other night, I informed a rather astute music person that the Book of Mormon was written by Matt & Trey from South Park. Even after I told them, they still didn't believe me. It took a web search on a cell phone to confirm my piece of incredulous information. It wasn't that it was impossible to think that Matt & Trey had the musical chops to write a musical...it was insane to
My 25 favorite songs of 2011.

With only two weeks remaining in 2011, it's that time of the year where all the music sites and publications dole out their annual 'Best Of' lists. Likewise, Bears and Bullets has stuck with that tradition as well, with an annual 'Top 25 Songs of the Year' list. But with the addition of the Albums of the Month feature on the site this year, I thought it wouldn't be fair to just stick with songs from here on out. So, I present to you Bears and Bullets first [...]
