My French politics is not currently as up to date as I'd like, but according to the submission, Tune In Crew's newest song, “Tous dehors”, samples current politician Jean-Luc Melenchon. While it's dangerous to post about these things, especially in my obvious ignorance, the song itself is a fun take on the moombahton style, and to be honest, it's pretty creative to mix art and politics through sampling of the politician. “Tous dehors” is perfect for the warm days ahead, and it's three minutes at the beach every time (or at least in my mind it is). The past few years have seen many changes for the reggae artist, Matisyahu . With the shedding of his beard back in 2011 came a cleaner, more mature musician, whose soothing vocals and profound lyrics have been noticeably absent from the airwaves. Until now. His upcoming album, Spark Seeker: Acoustic Sessions exposes the Hasidic reggae star's spiritual reinvention and connects to the world on an intimately personal level. There's something cleansing about the way Matisyahu makes music and we're glad to see that hasn't changed. In fact, it's amplified. See the man live as he rounds up [...]

Carrying Matisyahu & Aguilera under your arms is no balancing act. However, if you follow the Tune In Crew’s instructions.. then they seem to make the impossible seem possible. Pop meets underground .. and the results are noble. CHRISTINA AGUILERA - Your Body (Tune In Crew Remix)
It's safe to say that Matisyahu has cornered the market on contemporary Hanukkah music, not that he's had much competition in that department. Back in 2010, the Jewish reggae star released the single Miracle, which celebrated the traditional story of the Festival Of Lights, and he has followed that up with the uncreatively-titled Happy Hanukkah . In the spirit of giving back, Matis released the tune as a digital download charity single, with all the proceeds going to The Jewish Federation Of North America and The Robin Hood Foundation until the end of the holiday on [...]

Happy (almost) Hanukkah! It begins tomorrow night (Saturday, 12/8) and in addition to gathering 'round the table for dreidels to play with and latkes to eat, there are plenty of events in NYC that you can attend to celebrate. Jesse Zook Mann and Evan Kleinman's film, Punk Jews , is premiering in NYC next week , and there are a bunch of shows like the Sephardic Music Festival , Matisyahu 's 'Festival of Light' show at Terminal 5 , and many others. And of course Yo La Tengo play [...]

Matisyahu - Happy Hanukkah Remember Matisyahu? Well I do, and I remember listening to Youth feverishly as I rolled around Chicago in the summer of 2006. You couldn’t escape him, and didn’t want to. Hasidic Reggae Hip-Hop? Yes, please. But then he was gone, a big wave that crested. He popped across my radar lately so I thought I’d see what he’s been up to. Wouldn’t you know that despite some distance from the religion that defined him, the song that caught my ear was in fact a religious one? [...]
