Maximum Balloon is the new solo project of Dave Sitek , the guitartist from TV On The Radio. Pretty much everyone else in the band is involved in some sort of side project, so now it's his turn. He is currently streaming "Tiger" the first single from his debut album. It features guest vocals from Dragons of Zynth's member Aku. Strangely enough he sounds like he would be a perfect fit in TVOTR. The song actually sounds like a new TVOTR song, which means I like it. Stream it here . [...]
With TV on the Radio currently on their planned one-year hiatus, the mastermind behind TVotR's sound has been hard at work with Aziz Ansari on a joke-rap mixtape titled Aaaaaaaangry and now a solo project as Maximum Balloon. Today, Muzjiks has the first listen on what Sitek has been cooking up under this new solo moniker. Last year we got Kyp Malone's Rain Machine, this year it appears we are going to get a solo album from another one of the TV On The Radio boys. David Sitek, multi-instrumentalist and uber producer, will be releasing his debut solo album under the moniker Maximum Balloon in August.
