On July 10, the Brooklyn-based band will release their long awaited follow up with Swing Lo Magellan, via the venerable indie label Domino Records. The 12-track affair, which was recorded at an old house in Delaware County, New York, and is being described as having a bit of a "stripped down" sound that you can hear [...]

We've seen The Ultimate Warrior's horribly unfunny bit from Guitar World's roast of Zakk Wylde earlier this year, and we've seen Steel Panther's much funnier contribution to that same event - but now we have video of Jim Norton's time at the podium, and it should go without saying that the stand-up comedian is the [...]
Hell in a Handbasket proves that Meat Loaf still has the ability to create a powerful and moving CD.
When you decide to listen to a Meat Loaf album, you have a pretty good idea about what you'll hear: the musical equivalent of the emotion surrounding a Braveheart battle scene, the schmaltz of a Vegas floor show, and the power of an oil tanker explosion all combined together in the vocal chords of a single large man. It's either something you pump your fist for or something you avoid and dismiss as kitschy. No matter which side you're on, you can't deny the power of Meat Loaf's voice or his rightful place as King of [...]

Months after its Australian release, Meat Loaf's 12th LP is heading home.

When I heard Alice Cooper was releasing an album called Welcome 2 My Nightmare , I cringed. The first thing that came to mind was Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell II : Back Into Hell, the disappointing 1993 sequel to Meat's 1977 melodramatic masterpiece Bat Out of Hell . Clearly there was reason to be concerned; lightning, after all, rarely strikes twice. Fortunately, Cooper's new release proves to be a worthy successor to his 1975 classic Welcome to My Nightmare . Part of [...]
