Only a month after the release of Philly rapper Meek Mill's debut full-length album, Dreams and Nightmares, a new version of one of its cuts is available for streaming. Originally "Lay Up" was supposed to appear on Meek's record with verses from Rick Ross, Trey Songz, and Jay-Z, but the final album version included Wale ... Continue reading

Here's a new remix of Meek Mill 's "Lay Up," off his latest release Dreams & Nightmares , which aired last night via Philly radio station Power 99 . The track features contributions from Rick Ross, Trey Songz and now an additional verse from Jay-Z. You can take a listen to and download it for free below. Enjoy!
Last month, Philly rap energy-bomb released his very good album Dreams & Nightmares . Before the album dropped, Meek had mentioned that Jay-Z had contributed a verse. But Jay, possibly unhappy with his own work, ended up not appearing on the album, though he did record a verse - and a pretty good one! - for Meek's opulent Rick Ross/Trey Songz collab "Lay Up." Instead of Jay, Wale appeared on the final album, which is not exactly an upgrade. But the Jay version is making the internet rounds today, and you can hear it below. Read More...
This assumption could be completely wrong, but something says Dreams & Nightmares wasn't exactly the album Meek Mill wanted to make. There were highs, as were lows, but the feel [...] The post Hear Jay-Z's Lost "Lay Up" Verse That Didn't Make Meek Mill's Album appeared first on The Smoking Section .

A radio rip of this surfaced earlier tonight but the quality was awful and the Philly based DJ used an unbearable amount of screeching noises and drops. Thankfully a CDQ has arrived. This version does not have Meek on it but we do get an additional verse from Rozay (thanks?) and an honorable feature from Hov himself. Does it live up to the hype or let down? Rick Ross - Lay Up (ft. Jay-Z) "The bigger the boat, the better the bitch" [...]

Though Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is a member of Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group, he recently signed with Jay-Z' s Roc Nation management group. One of the perks of having both men as bosses is evident in Meek's new remix of "Lay Up". Already featuring a guest spot from Rozay, the remix adds on a few bragadocious bars from Hov. Download the radio rip below. Meek Mill feat. Rick Ross & Jay-Z - "Lay Up" (Remix) Meek Mills' debut studio album, Dreams and Nightmares [...]

It's been a minute since we've heard from LEP , but each time they drop new material it's a good day. Today we get visuals for "Rush Hour," a standout single from their 2011 project Now Or Neva. This Halloween didn't feel the same without a new LEP project, and hopefully we can get DFTK4 sooner, rather than later.
Directed by Open World Films. Back from a short hiatus, Count and Moonie deliver the visual for their J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-produced collaboration with Meek Mill. Better late than never right? Speaking of never - this one was featured on L.E.P.'s Now Or Neva project, which is now available on iTunes minus tags. Go ahead and do the right thing. Expect new music from the Low End Professionals soon, too.

Today is the day Rockie Fresh brings us his debut Electric Highway single "I'm Wit It", the first official solo release after signing to MMG. "I'm Wit It"is produced by D. Cassidy must be bitter that Meek Mill has turned into the biggest Philly rapper in the game right now. The two exchanged some words on Twitter the other night, then Cass released this new track, "The Diary Of A Hustler". I wish Pac was around to slap the shit out of current rappers. Beef pops off on Twitter. That's so lame. Cassidy can probably kill Meek lyrically, but Meek could crush this dude with his wallet at this point. Ease up, baby boy. CASSIDY - THE DIARY OF A HUSTLER (MEEK [...]

What it is??? What it is??? Taylor Swift is what it is! I can't be mad. 3 weeks and #1 and you own that shit woman. The rest of the chart is irrelevant. TOP TEN ALBUMS 1. Taylor Swift 's stranglehold on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart doesn't seem to be lessening anytime soon: For the third consecutive week , she easily took the top spot at #1, selling 196,000 units of her massively successful album Red . That number is down from last week's 344,000 copies by 43%, but — just for context — the next-top-selling album, Now 44 , debuted at #2 on the chart with 99,000 units. That Swift reign just won't quit. Coming in just after that is Rod Stewart 's [...]

YESSSSS. Meek Mill goes in on this beat. And I'll throw in another dirty new song with 2 Chainz in it that I've had for a few days now that has filthy bass. Meek Mill (feat Sam Sneak & 2 Chainz) - Freak Show Gudda Gudda (feat 2 Chainz) - Bang Bang Tweet Facebook LinkedIn [...]
Meek Mill stops by Jimmy Fallon last time as he continues to push his new Dreams and Nightmares album.

Here's a bonus cut from Meek Mill's Dreams & Nightmares LP featuring 2 Chainz & DJ Sam Sneak entitled "Freak Show". The track is kind of all over the place with a heavy incline towards snare-rolls, claps and a high tempo, making it clear that it was meant to be played at clubs across America. Meek's debut album sold 167, 000 copies in its first week out, good enough to land at #2 on the charts.

The recipe is simple; combine lush progressive synths with trap arrangements and sprinkle in some Meek Mill 'House Party' lyrics. Then zone out. That's how its done properly.
