I found this cd at the back of a pile of random cdrs. It reminds me of living with three other heavy-muso dudes at art college, all discovering this obscure but beautiful music through mags like Straight no Chaser and Blues N Soul. Me'shell NdegeOcello represented this kind of wilfully diffident, yet melodically accessible ideal; edgy music that anyone could get into (but only a few people knew about).
