Metro – Attack of the American Girls

Metro – Attack of the American Girls So, I got this track from Luxemburg group, Metro . Most of their info is in German, but what I was able to discern through various translations programs is that they are set to release their latest EP, Too Many Lovers . Their sound falls into the indie/pop/electronica genre and is catchy as hell. Good grooves, nice bassline and full-bodied , powerful vocals from front man, Oliver Treinen. Check out the single, "Attack of the American Girl," from the Too Many Lovers which will be release in September through the Waggle-Daggle Imprint. [...]

Innit?

Innit? Thought I'd just show you a couple of tracks I'm listening to at the moment while I attempt (avoid) this Semiotic Analysis Essay ( Zzzz ). First up are The Metros - Talk About It. You know the deal with me already; English, males, obvious accents, upbeat tempo and doesn't hurt if they're a bit cute and wearing amazing Oxfords. I went to go look up some info on them and it seems they had a short lived career and after three years, ended it in 2009. Ah well, I'm sure they'll be around in other reincarnations. It won't [...]

Kele (from Bloc Party) Announces 2010 US Tour Dates, New Album 'The Boxer' Out June 22nd

Kele (from Bloc Party) Announces 2010 US Tour Dates, New Album 'The Boxer' Out June 22nd Kele Okereke, otherwise known as the frontman for Bloc Party, announced a little while back that he would be releasing a solo album called The Boxer this year. He had also previously announced a few Euro-tour dates for his solo act. Now he has announced a short US tour with a full band in support of this new solo album. From what I understand this is going to be a more electronic/beat/dance driven kind of sound than Bloc Party, although they did put out some of those kinds of songs with their last album. [...]

Metro Interview With Akala

Metro Interview With Akala Free London daily rag the Metro recently caught up with Akala, Ms Dynamite's sibling. I only know Roll Wid Us , which is a few years old now, from this guy. The Dexplicit remix of that was cool. From the Metro: "'We spend our lives being put in boxes; it's the boxes I can't stand, man.' It doesn't take much to get British hip hop wordsmith Akala (aka 26-year-old Kingslee James Daley) on a roll, as we chat over a healthy pick'*'mix from his favourite veggie restaurant. This amiable rabble-rouser has [...]
