Now awaiting the postman’s knock in anticipation of my “Random Access Memories” delivery (for both vinyl and CD copies), Berlin’s Theatre Of Delays drops us a note in regards to his speedy ‘Doin’ It Right’ remix (from Daft Punk) which has more thought and energy thrown into it than nine lanes of 100 metre runners who are waiting to start their next race. Made from a place between time and space, Theatre Of Delays gives “The Robots” a slight nudge that falls into Grade A, masterpiece territory. “Since Daft Punk revealed to [...]
When I caught up with Joseph Mount (right), the founder of UK electronic band Metronomy , he was a few drinks into his night and in a fun mood. While he puffed away on a cigarette, I got him to talk about good and bad band girlfriends, getting "too commerical" and great stoner records. the interview show with Metronomy Metronomy "The Look" (Fred Falke Remix) I haven't done a dance band for a while, so enjoy these remixes. By the time I read the presser I was sent about the new IS TROPICAL video, it was already too late. YouTube had already taken it down as 'its content violated YouTube's Terms Of Service'. This immediately set off my internal alarms, as something taken down so quickly, had to be one of two things. Very very good, or at least, pretty damn crude. Thankfully, Vimeo aren't a bunch of prudes taking orders from Google - and there you can view the full official uncut totally crude, but totally amazing [...]

I went down 10 Feet Tall last night to catch Anna from Metronomy 's DJ set. My memory is a little hazy (that'll be the £2 Kraken and cokes) but I remember Millionaire slamming into Try Again, the baffling sight of humanities students trying to bump to Do The Astral Plane, lots of Phoenix and a slight school disco vibe... Lads, get to 10 ft Tall Anna Metronomy DJ set now, there's only babes on the floor! — Hannah Cook (@han_louisecook) [...]

I just checked on We Got tickets and there's nine free tickets left for Wednesday . And it's not Olugbenga but Anna, so I haven't the foggiest what she's going to play at 10 Feet Tall ; here's hoping for this cheeky bootleg...
If there are oblique glimpses of Grace Jones in the exclusively monochromic imagery adorning Tyneside songstress Lulu James' previous few singles, then it would appear that these are only alive and amplified in this, the live arena. For although it may be her début headline London date – a reality met with perhaps immoderately rabid hysteria down in the in every way opaque Dalston doldrums of Birthdays – she's got the live show buttoned down to a tee. Or a Tyne – either way... Cocooned in a spider's web of sequins, glinting beads and gossamer-like hood, [...]

I finally got around to alphabetising my CDs; that's how bored and skint I've been this Easter weekend. During the sort I found Metronomy 's Nights In EP, a bonus CD that came with Nights Out when bought from Rough Trade , which nicely bridges the wonky bedroom electronics of Pip Paine to the wonky full band sound of Nights In. Here's the highlight, the bonkers The Chase (which also featured on the US iTunes release). Well wonky. [...]

Sorry it's been a bit quiet. I moved to the Bay , despite what I said back in 2010 . Yeah, I had no internet for a few weeks, but the main thing is that I'm now round the corner from work; I used to have an hour-and-a-half walk every day and I'd have earphones in most of the time. Now I mostly get my music fix in work, loading up Boiler Room and Just Jam mixes; DJ Ride's had a few plays... [...]

From the ill-fated (Your Twenties) to the inexplicably neglected ( Olugbenga ), offshoot endeavours from the independent members of Joseph Mount's almost excessively successful gawky electropop outfit Metronomy haven't exactly led a charmed existence thus far. Though that may all be about to change as here appears upon your horizons Urban Heat Island – the début full-length from Night Works , a project conceived by onetime Metronomy torchbearer and indeed Your Twenties' lead vocalist since, Gabriel Stebbing. Last seen strutting some flamboyant stuff in the aisles of the Royal Albert Hall some seventeen months ago, this [...]
The quintet PTTRNS from cologne could remind you of Electro-Pop Acts like LCD Soundsystem, Metronomy or WhoMadeWho! Today they released the first single 'Strong Talk' of their forthcoming album 'Body Pressure' as a free download. We like it a lot... READ MORE

Oh my god!!!! Can you guys ever forgive me?! " Da fuq are you talking bout?" I totally slept on Moullinex's debut album last year =( And from what I hear it was pretty awesome. Anyways, everything happens for a reason! Upon finding out about Moullinex's latest release, a simple blog search of his recent activity showed me that he has in fact done a lot since the last time I checked. And what's there not to like? He's like Metronomy + Sebastien Tellier ! p.s. This [...]
![Stream: Night Works – Urban Heat Island [EP]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4803898_lg.jpg)
I posted about Night Works last week with two songs off his forthcoming EP Urban Heat Island "Long Forgotten Boy" and "I Tried So Hard" that scored him a 9 out of 10 on the gentle scale. A little r&B, a little electro-pop, it's pretty hard to define the former Metronomy bassist's solo project. On writing the album, Gabriel says "Everything seemed to be in collapse or in recession – free-fall, really – while I was writing it. It made me think of all the people who are trying to make their way [...]
I feel like I am stuck in a rut of these sorta 802s throwback outfits, but I just love what I am finding tooooooo much. This track from Metronomy has ALL the things I like: catchy bass riff....that's it. It has more, but I am a sucker for a catchy bass riff and this one is right up my alley. Dig in: Click the [...]
