When we were on our old site, the fist part of this post blew up and our viewers seemed to really dig it. Here is a continuation of the post, with some repeats and some newbies. There's a bunch of different genres below within the realm of electronic, so enjoy: Flo Rida - Available (feat. Akon and Ke$ha) (Benny Benassi Remix) Electrofixed - Human Spaceflights (Original Mix) Avicii - Next Levels (The Fat Rat Remix) Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks (LunyP PUMPED UP Re-Edit) Kings of Leon - Sex [...]

Miss MGMT? Pining for Passion Pit? Here's your fix: The Ghosts ' debut single ticks all the vital synth-pop boxes, from falsetto vocals to an impossibly perky disposition. Just ignore that growing sense of déja vu and bounce along in giddy glee. [There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed. Visit the blog entry to see the video.]

Tweet January has come and gone. In some parts of the world Lana Del Rey 's "Born To Die" has already been released to mixed reviews, nowhere near making as big a splash as was anticipated by some. I've given it a listen, it's fine, but, as I expected, nothing remarkable. In not-LDR-related news, there have been plenty of good releases so far in this past month, with Cloud Nothings [...]

"You moved in slow degrees/A sudden memory/You're a Leonard Cohen song" - Better Than Ezra, "Under You" "But I was caught, like a fleeting thought / Stuck inside Leonard Cohen's mind" - Mercury Rev, "A Drop In Time" "Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld / So I can sigh eternally" - Nirvana, "Pennyroyal Tea" It's almost unbelievable now to think that we almost never heard Leonard Cohen , the singer. A well-regarded poet from the late [...]

MM and I went to see a film this week with a friend of ours, Gooner Ian. We were the only three in the cinema until the last minute when a couple gate-crashed the party. (Didn't they realise?! We didn't!) Anyway, no-one could deny the commanding central performance or even a highly credible supporting cast, but it just wasn't what it promised to be. It lacked depth (in this case political) and was without the cultural reference points that spark a whole raft of memories. Sadly, it just sort of faded away from consciousness. It's a metaphor that [...]

Even after yesterday's high-profile protests from Wikipedia, Google, Facebook, and Tumblr, and even after many of the two bills' initial architects are withdrawing support, debate still rages over SOPA and PIPA, the two invasive internet-piracy bills currently facing Congress. And now a number of popular artists have signed an open letter to Congress, which comes out strongly against both bills. Trent Reznor, MGMT, the Lonely Island, Aziz Ansari, Amanda Palmer, OK Go, Nada Surf's Daniel Lorca, and Public Enemy producer Hank Shocklee are among those who have signed the letter. In its text, the letter acknowledges the harmfulness [...]
The Internet has found itself a new ally in its ongoing fight against SOPA and PIPA. As Billboard reports, Trent Reznor, MGMT, The Lonely Island, Nada Surf's Daniel Lorca, and OK Go have all co-signed an open letter to Congress expressing their opposition to the legislation. The letter was also signed by comedian Aziz Ansari, fillmaker Lloyd Kaufman, MythBusters ' Adam Savage, and other members of the entertainment industry. "We fear that the broad new enforcement powers provided under SOPA and PIPA could be easily abused against legitimate services [...]

If you tried to visit a number of websites today and were unable to view their content, don't be alarmed: it's due to the protest of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) bills, which were created to stop online piracy and protect copyright owners, but could allow the government to censor practically anything on the Internet. You'd think musicians would be all for protecting their music from piracy, but artists, such as B.o.B, Kreashawyn, OK Go and more, have made it clear that this bill, if passed, will do more harm than good. [...]

As we move into a new year, one of the strangest pieces of news has been revealed. Album sales in 2011 actually went up for the first time in almost a decade. Granted it was mostly due to Adele's incredibly popular album...that still proves that the album as a musical format is still very viable. And while all the news articles still like to pronounce the death of rock and how pop has
On today's RiO!B episode, I wanna know from you what albums you're looking forward to this year. A lot of bands are expected to release new music this year so what ones are you hoping to get in 2012?

Our girls in The Jane Doze have started 2012, the same way they conquered all of 2011, with INCREDIBLY well put togehter mash ups. "Kids, Set Fire To Someone That I Used To Know mixes and mashes up Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know", MGMT's "Kids", Adele's "Set Fire To The Rain", and Sebastian Ingrosso's "Kidsos" into some sort of gigantic dance floor concoction. Such a good buildup on this little nugget.

New talent popped up out of the woodwork and established acts stepped away from the [...]

What is that? Is it a play on the name of that mountain range in Switzerland? Is it literally something to do with the anatomy of Swiss people? Is it a new euphemism from those pesky teenagers that we're no longer privy to? Are they linking that most sensuous, kissable part of every human being and linking with it that most neutral of European countries? It makes no sense to us. Are we missing the joke here? It's hard not to consider their choice of band name, particularly when it sounds so, well, downright silly. We would love to state [...]
