When I told our associate producer, Bonnie, that we were interviewing Micachu and the Shapes out of England, she almost flipped out. This is usually a good sign that they are on the cusp. We have played two of their videos over the last 3 shows, and with good reason. Their sound is fun, catchy, and unique. They blend a lot of traditional pop making methods with modern sounds. Chaka Khan has teamed up with five other female musicians- Róisín Murphy , Sinéad O'Connor, Micachu , thecocknbullkid , and Alessi's Ark-and recorded a cover of her disco classic "I'm Every Woman" to benefit the British charity ActionAid, which tries to help women who are living in impoverished conditions around the world.
